Start’ Em Sit’ Em Wide Receivers – Week 8

You know the drill by now. Let’s check and see how we did last week. DJ Moore was supposed to have a great game. I mean he did almost score 14 points, but it was against the Giants man. Those numbers should be at least doubled. Odell was my sit of the week, and like always he was right where he belongs. Let’s talk week eight receivers people.

Starts

Start of the Week;

Adam Thielen vs Dallas Cowboys

Call this one a hunch, but I believe Thielen is back in the game baby. He caught 11 of 13 targets two weeks ago and also scored a touchdown against the Panthers. That defense was good against receivers. This defense this week is not. He faces the Dallas Cowboys are 27th in terms of guarding the wideout position. Let it rain because it’s Thielen time!

Courtland Sutton vs Washington Football Team

Sutton scored 11 points last week so it’s not like it was great, but at least it wasn’t single digits, you know? I like him this weekend against the Washington Football Team. Their team has been very generous to wideouts this season. Just look at what Adams and Lazard were able to do last week. He also has to score big to make sure the return of Jerry Jeudy is coming and he needs to keep that number one wideout spot.

Emmanuel Sanders vs Miami Dolphins

Sanders is becoming a great target for Josh Allen. However, he was the only Bills receiver not to score a touchdown two weeks ago. That changes this week. He will face the Miami Dolphins. In his first contest with them, the Bills didn’t need to throw it too much, but Tua is back in the lineup which means he will pass better. Sanders should be a great option though this week as the Dolphins are 30th against wideouts this season.

DeVonta Smith vs Detroit Lions

Smith has to start stepping up here. I mean Jalen Reagor got the touchdown last week… Are we serious? The good news is that the Eagles will face the Lions this week. The Lions are a bad team. The Eagles are a bad team. This means a good fight with plenty of throws made. Smith aside from Goedert should be the best option available for Hurts there.

Michael Pittman Jr. vs Tennessee Titans

With Hilton being broken as always, Pittman has been a wonderful number one wide receiver for Carson Wentz and the Colts. I expect big things from him this week as he will face the Tennessee Titans. If there is a part of their defense that sucks the most it is their secondary. Pittman should do wonders here. The Titans are ranked dead last in covering receivers. Plus, Pittman scored double digits on them in their first go-around. Put him in.

Sleepers;

AJ Green vs Green Bay Packers

Russell Gage vs Carolina Panthers

Randall Cobb vs Arizona Cardinals

Sits

Sit of the Week;

Julio Jones vs Indianapolis Colts

Jones has been a huge disappointment this fantasy season. From underperforming to injuries, the guy just can’t seem to get it going in Tennessee. Now that AJ Brown is back to full health, it seems the only time Jones is going to get the ball is if Brown goes down again with another injury cause he unlike Jones is playing light out. I don’t like the matchup here as well so it might sting with the byes, but yeah Jones is my sit of the week.

Allen Robinson vs San Francisco 49ers

I am so happy that this is Robinson’s last year in Chicago because they can’t get anything going with him and Justin Fields in this offense. So while the matchup might seem like a friendly one, I would advise that these could go to Darnell Mooney instead, or Herbert, or whoever Fields wants to pass the ball to. Goddammit, the Bears and Matt Nagy suck the life out of everything man.

Jaylen Waddle vs Buffalo Bills

If I miss one here, it is bound to be Waddle, but again, the Dolphins are going up against the Bills. That defense terrifies me to no end. After all it is spooky season. So I might be scared to play Waddle, and there is a lot to back that up, but if you need to play him just be warned. He’s a very risky flex this week.

Tyler Boyd vs New York Jets

I said it from the beginning that the one Bengals wideout that will suffer points-wise with Chase coming in was going to be Tyler Boyd. He barely saw the ball against the Ravens. Ja’Marr Chase had over 200 receiving yards, and Tee Higgins had 15 targets. Boyd is the odd man out here. I expect it will happen again as the Bengals take on the Jets.

Laviska Shenault Jr. vs Seattle Seahawks

Shenault has had a decent season so far with three double digit performances to his name for 2021. However, aside from that, he has been virtually nonexistent for the Jaguars. Names like James Robinson and Marvin Jones are putting in points where Shenault’s points just aren’t getting there. He is coming off a bye, and he will face the Titans this week. I don’t like his odds.

Busts;

Odell Beckham Jr. vs Pittsburgh Steelers

Jakobi Meyers vs Los Angeles Chargers

Rondale Moore vs Green Bay Packers
