Moorhead’s NFL Power Rankings – Week 4

What another crazy week of football people. Some results were what we expected as football fans, and others were just downright blindsides right to my heart. Which teams moved up? Which teams moved down? Will this ever get old? No it will not. Let’s get this going. Here are the NFL Power Rankings for Week Four!

#32

Jacksonville Jaguars (0-3)

Previous Rank – 32

The Jaguars dropped another loss this week against the Cardinals. Surprisingly, this team was winning at one point, and even made sure Kyler Murray didn’t throw a single touchdown. However, the defense was just on another level in this one, and pressured Trevor Lawrence like he was a child on the field. The Jaguars have to get it together, and it will need to be soon because they have the Cincinnati Bengals this Thursday night!

#31

New York Jets (0-3)

Previous Rank – 31

Man the Jets are such trash. Timmy you were right here dude. Zach Wilson sucks. The kid has two touchdowns to seven interceptions. It’s honestly unreal. If it weren’t for the Jaguars also sucking ass, they would be last in the rankings. They have gone back-to-back games of scoring zero points. They need to win a game, but it’s gonna be another tough one when they take on the Tennessee Titans.

#30

Detroit Lions (0-3)

Previous Rank – 30

As a Lions fan, you have to be pissed man. This team fights hard, and even though they aren’t very good at times, they should have beaten the Baltimore Ravens here. Sadly, Tucker hit the longest field goal in NFL history, and the team is now 0-3. They should make for good competition this week though as they face a very uncertain Chicago Bears.

#29

Houston Texans (1-2)

Previous Rank – 29

The Texans didn’t do bad, but they still dropped the ball here against the Carolina Panthers. Davis Mills has a real good connection with Brandin Cooks, but that’s about it. Overall, this team is still a little in shambles, and honestly things get harder when they take on the Bills this week.

#28

New York Giants (0-3)

Previous Rank – 27

This game was a toilet bowl and a half, but the good thing is that Saquon got his first rushing touchdown of the season. The bad news was they lost Slayton and Shepard to injury. The Giants are in big trouble without some receivers man. They’ll face the Saints this week.

#27

Indianapolis Colts (0-3)

Previous Rank – 24

The Colts were supposed to be a really good team man. Wow… I just didn’t picture them down this far and no wins on their record. Carson Wentz seems off yet again, and their defense continues to be Swiss cheese. They’ll face the Miami Dolphins this week.

#26

Atlanta Falcons (1-2)

Previous Rank – 28

The Falcons finally got their first win of the season. However, this game was really close, and I still don’t have faith in Matt Ryan. The defense still sucks, and overall, the Falcons just don’t seem like a good football team. They’ll face the Washington Football Team this week.

#25

Chicago Bears (1-2)

Previous Rank – 21

Is Matt Nagy trying to sabotage Justin Fields?? This play calling was such bullshit, and now Fields get hurt because of it. I kind of expected this when the guy took nine sacks in one game. Now, Nagy says he doesn’t know who the starter will be. This guy needs fired, but one thing is for certain. The Bears suck, and they’ll face the Detroit Lions this week.

#24

Philadelphia Eagles (1-2)

Previous Rank – 23

The Eagles just forgot how to use Miles Sanders I guess, but whatever this was a brutal loss to Dallas on Monday. Hurts turned the ball over a lot, and they really just couldn’t get anything going. They’ll look to rebound, but it’s unlikely cause they face a very pissed off Chiefs team.

#23

Miami Dolphins (1-2)

Previous Rank – 22

Ya know the Dolphins almost had this one. Brissett showed how stuff was done, but in the end the Dolphins dropped another loss. Hopefully tides will turn, and they’ll get back on track cause they face the Indianapolis Colts this week.

#22

Washington Football Team (1-2)

Previous Rank – 19

This was an ugly one for the WFT man. The defense that was thought to be a great one gave up a mass amount of touchdowns to Josh Allen not only through the air, but on the ground as well. I am not sure what this team is doing, and they need to get things in order quickly. They should have an opportunity to rebound because they face the Atlanta Falcons whose only team they beat was one they already beat; the Giants.

#21

Minnesota Vikings (1-2)

Previous Rank – 26

Alright, maybe I was a bit hard on the Vikings because Kirk Cousins is “cookin”. The man has almost 1,000 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and no interceptions. They also didn’t have Dalvin Cook to pound the run game, but Mattison did fantastic in his absence. Their defense still has a little bit of issues, but overall, they did a great job in shutting Wilson and the Seahawks down. They’ll face another great team this week when they take on their old offensive coordinator’s new team; the Cleveland Browns.

#20

Pittsburgh Steelers (1-2)

Previous Rank – 11

I’m embarrassed. This might have been one of the worst games I have ever seen the Steelers game. I was at this game shouting and screaming for something to be done, but in the end we lost to the Cincinnati Bengals. Everything that could have went wrong in this one went wrong. Ben was awful, the line was atrocious, JuJu left the game with an injury, and our play calling was the worst I have ever seen. The bright spot was Najee in this offense, but overall, this was a pathetic performance by the Steelers, and now we find ourselves in the bottom of the division because of it. They’ll face the Green Bay Packers this week.

#19

Cincinnati Bengals (2-1)

Previous Rank – 25

As you can imagine, I was not a happy camper sitting next to my brother at this game being he was a huge Bengals fan. I have to give it to them though, their offense barely needed to do anything. Still, Burrow threw three touchdowns (two to Ja’Marr Chase and one to Tyler Boyd). Their defense was able to make plays and capitalize on opportunities. They have a chance to go to good places now because of this because they’ll face the Jacksonville Jaguars this Thursday.

#18

New England Patriots (1-2)

Previous Rank – 14

This was a bad game for the Pats man. Mac Jones looked bad as threw an interception not once, not twice, but three times in this game against this Saints defense. James White going down with an injury and being carted off hurts this team so much it is unreal. The defense also did not show up letting Jameis run wild on them. Now they go into a game where it is more or less the coach versus the quarterback as they face Tom Brady and the Buccaneers this week.

#17

Denver Broncos (3-0)

Previous Rank – 18

The Broncos have three wins under their belts. So you are probably wondering why they are ranked so low. Well for starters, their three wins are against the Giants, Jaguars, and Jets. So there’s that. They also didn’t do much in this last game against the Jets, but I guess when the defense is destroying Zach Wilson, you really don’t need to do much. They did lose KJ Hamler to an ACL tear, and I imagine that will hurt them in the long run. They do have a task at hand for this week though as they’ll face the Baltimore Ravens this week.

#16

Seattle Seahawks (1-2)

Previous Rank – 6

Russell Wilson can only do so much man. Dammit, this team just can’t help him in anyway. Of course, I am talking about the offensive line, and the defense. Their defense was literally swiss cheese against Cousins and the Vikings. The offensive line can’t handle the pressure, and Tyler Lockett not doing well hurts this team so much when Russ can’t get out the deep ball to him. They drop huge in the rankings because I just see this being a regular theme for them. They’ll face a division rival in the 49ers this week.

#15

New Orleans Saints (2-1)

Previous Rank – 17

The Saints defense dominated in this game man. They picked off rookie Mac Jones three times, and overall just had a field day in this game. Alvin Kamara finally got some good usage, and both Jameis and Taysom got touchdowns on the day. This week they’ll get another disappointing team to face when they take on the winless New York Giants.

#14

Carolina Panthers (3-0)

Previous Rank – 20

Hear me out. I know losing Christian McCaffrey will hurt them at times, but damn do the Panthers look good. Sam Darnold looks incredible now that he is out of the dark shadows of Adam Gase’s play calling, and their defense looks great. They did lose Jaycee Horn to injury as well, but got a huge compliment in the form of CJ Henderson from the Jaguars to replace him. This team is going places man, and they’ll have to prove it this week when they face the Dallas Cowboys.

#13

Los Angeles Chargers (2-1)

Previous Rank – 16

The Chargers finally did it. They upset Mahomes and the Chiefs. Man this was such a great game to watch. I will say they don’t move up as much because the plays they made were more of Mahomes’s mistakes then them making plays. Still, this was a huge win for them in the division. Mike Williams is finally the breakout star we want him to be, and there should be good things to come from this team. They’ll have another divisional matchup this week when they take on the undefeated Raiders Monday night.

#12

Dallas Cowboys (2-1)

Previous Rank – 15

Dak is back man. Prescott was nice in this win over the Eagles, and the offense cooked and sliced their way through this Eagles defense like a hot knife going through butter. Zeke also came back to the game with two rushing touchdowns on the day and almost 100 yards. The defense also now has proven they weren’t what they were last year with Dan Quinn running the show now. They’ll have to knock off the undefeated Panthers this week, but one thing I can say is that this will be a good one.

#11

Tennessee Titans (2-1)

Previous Rank – 13

The Titans thrashed their way through the Colts this week. Now, Tannehill did have some problems, and AJ Brown going down with injury doesn’t help, but overall it was a good showing by the Titans. They will have an easy match this week when they take on the New York Jets, and that waste of space of an organization.

#10

Las Vegas Raiders (3-0)

Previous Rank – 12

The Raiders have made the top ten. I can’t even believe I am saying that. Honestly, this last game was another close one as they had to go to overtime to settle it, but when the dust eventually settled, the Raiders came out on top. I will say that Josh Jacobs needs to get back on the field to help the run game cause they can’t rely on Kenyan Drake and Peyton Barber. Derek Carr also leads the NFL in passing yards which again is crazy. They’ll have a tough one this week as they take on the Chargers Monday night.

#9

Arizona Cardinals (3-0)

Previous Rank – 10

Things didn’t look good early in this one for Arizona. Hopkins is clearly still dealing with a rib injury, and it affect the pass game. Murry also didn’t throw a touchdown in this, but threw another pick. He did run one in though which saves him. The defense once again was on fire in this one making Lawrence and the Jaguars just look bad. Also, AJ Green looked great here getting numbers from when he was once an all-time great receiver. They get their toughest matchup so far though this week when they take on the Los Angeles Rams.

#8

San Francisco 49ers (2-1)

Previous Rank – 7

The 49ers thought they had this one, but never count out Aaron Rodgers. It only took 37 seconds, but the Packers came back and won this one in dramatic fashion. The 49ers showed some promise on offense, but you can clearly tell they are missing running elements even with the success of Trey Sermon. The time to switch for Lance from Garoppolo might come soon though as Lance was on the field for a number of select plays. They’ll face the Seattle Seahawks this week.

#7

Cleveland Browns (2-1)

Previous Rank – 8

The Browns smoked the Bears this weekend. The defense was on another level with Myles Garrett getting 4.5 sacks on the day against Justin Fields. Beckham looked great being back, and Kareem Hunt proved why sometimes number two is better than number one as he clobbered this defense. Things look good for Cleveland, and they’ll look to take down the Vikings this weekend.

#6

Kansas City Chiefs (1-2)

Previous Rank – 3

Yikes man… What a turn of events for the Chiefs. Mahomes had a lot of sloppy things happen in this one as he tossed not one, but two interceptions in this contest against the Chargers. They gave up four passing touchdowns to Justin Herbert, and overall did not play very well. Tyreek Hill again got bottled up and couldn’t do anything either. They should have a bounce back week this week though as they’ll take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

#5

Baltimore Ravens (2-1)

Previous Rank – 4

Why did the Ravens drop even with a win here? There’s a perfect explanation. If it wasn’t for Justin Tucker, the Ravens would have lost. They were playing down to the level of the Detroit Lions which is bad, and the kick was actually supposed to be moved back further, but of course the refs missed some penalties in this one. So yes, even though Justin Tucker holds the record for the longest field goal ever made, it doesn’t give the excuse of how bad the Ravens played. They’ll face the Denver Broncos this week.

#4

Green Bay Packers (2-1)

Previous Rank – 9

Aaron Rodgers is a bad man people. This team had some struggles going in, but overall, they played very well against this 49ers team. Rodgers and Adams did their thing although there was a clear helmet-to-helmet contact play that almost put Adams on the sideline that wasn’t called which is crazy, but Aaron’s two big cash throws both went to Adams in those moments. The Packers will face the Pittsburgh Steelers this week.

#3

Buffalo Bills (2-1)

Previous Rank – 5

Josh Allen is back man. The kid absolutely put the Washington Football Team on blast with five total touchdowns in this game. The Bills started off rough with that loss to Pittsburgh, but I think it is clear to say they are back in business. The team played well both offensively and defensively. They should have no problem getting another win this week as they’ll take on the Houston Texans.

#2

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-1)

Previous Rank – 1

The winning streak had to stop at sometime for the Bucs and it came last week when they were handed their first loss from the Rams. This was such an exciting game to watch, and honestly the Bucs didn’t play bad, but there were some leaky issues for the defense. Brady passed for over 400 yards, and was the leading rusher for the team if you can believe that with a rushing score to boot. However, the defense got thrashed in this one, and the run game was almost nonexistent. Now, Brady has to put that all behind him as he heads into battle against his former coach and team; Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots.

#1

Los Angeles Rams (3-0)

Previous Rank – 2

The Rams look like they are heading to the Super Bowl man. I tell you that Matt Stafford looked like a true MVP candidate for this team in this one as he passed for over 300 yards and threw four touchdowns against the defending Super Bowl Champions; the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. This team looks legit, and could possibly be making a name for themselves for the future. All things look bright and filled with glory, and hopefully they stay that way because this week they face the Arizona Cardinals.
