Moorhead’s NFL Power Rankings – Week 15

#32

New York Jets (0-13)

Previous Rank – 32

The Jets in my mind didn’t have a chance in hell going up against the Seattle Seahawks. They tried their best, but Sam Darnold just couldn’t get anything going for the offense, and the defense was hammered by Russell Wilson. The way Darnold is talking, it seems that his time for the Jets might be up. They will play the Los Angeles Rams this weekend.

#31

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-12)

Previous Rank – 31

Minshew Mania came back, but there wasn’t much he could against the Titans who had already steamrolled them out of the game. He did throw a touchdown after taking over for Mike Glennon, but again the Jaguars were just trying to survive at that point. Minshew has been named the starting quarterback for next week’s game against the Ravens. So pray for him next weekend because he will need it.

#30

Cincinnati Bengals (2-10-1)

Previous Rank – 30

The Bengals did all they could fighting their former quarterback Andy Dalton, but he knew them too well and capitalized on a victory. The Bengals offense and defense were a mess with A.J. Green surprisingly being the one to take the reigns as the best wideout with a touchdown. The Bengals are slowly looking like one of the worst teams in the AFC. They will face a divisional rival on Monday night; the Pittsburgh Steelers.

#29

Atlanta Falcons (4-9)

Previous Rank – 26

The Falcons are just getting worse man. Like how does Matt Ryan throw three interceptions to the Los Angeles Chargers, a defense that is not good against the pass. It is a shame, and honestly at this point, they should make a move for Justin Fields, and trade away talent for picks. They drop a heavy loss to the Chargers, and now they will face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this weekend.

#28

Dallas Cowboys (4-9)

Previous Rank – 29

Andy Dalton made it possible to pull off a win against his former team; the Cincinnati Bengals. He was able to find a comforting ally in receiver in Amari Cooper. The defense finally was also able to find some strength in pressuring Brandon Allen who really was only able to find A.J. Green as his main weapon. The Cowboys will look to try to add another win when they take on the San Francisco 49ers.

#27

Los Angeles Chargers (4-9)

Previous Rank – 28

Finally, the Chargers were able to get a win when they took out the Atlanta Falcons. Sadly, Herbert could have done better, and now both Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler are questionable for this week. If Herbert is without his two favorite targets it will remain to see how the Chargers will fair out when they take on the Raiders this Thursday.

#26

Houston Texans (4-9)

Previous Rank – 24

I feel so bad for Deshaun Watson man. He barely gets any help, and it isn’t hard when basically all of your receivers are out, your defense is butt, and your offensive line is absolutely dreadful. Watson appeared to have injured his elbow, but came back in the game. It remain to be seen how that affects his game style when the Texans take on the Colts again.

#25

Carolina Panthers (4-9)

Previous Rank – 23

Not sure what happened here, but the Panthers dropped a hard loss to the Broncos. The defense was the real letdown here as they let Drew Lock throw four touchdown passes against them. Bridgewater also struggled as he didn’t throw a single touchdown pass and instead ran one in. It also looks like the Panthers will be without McCaffrey again when they take on the Green Bay Packers this week.

#24

Philadelphia Eagles (4-8-1)

Previous Rank – 27

Okay this didn’t make sense, but the Eagles got a huge upset victory over the New Orleans Saints. Jalen Hurts proved to be an efficient quarterback. He threw a touchdown, and was able to run for over 100 yards as well. Miles Sanders also had his best game of the season rushing the ball. Look for the Eagles to pull off another win when they take on the Arizona Cardinals.

#23

Denver Broncos (5-8)

Previous Rank – 25

I don’t get the Broncos man. Sometimes they play outstanding and other days they look completely lost. Still, it was good to see Drew Lock in good passing form as he threw four touchdowns against a normally tough Panthers pass defense. It also looks like they will be able to roll with Melvin Gordon as his DUI penalty will likely come in the 2021 season. They’ll face another tough challenge this week with the Buffalo Bills.

#22

New York Giants (5-8)

Previous Rank – 19

Man Daniel Jones did not look good in this game. The Cardinals defense was able to swarm him completely, and honestly he just didn’t healthy in this game. The Giants are now in second place for the NFC East and will now have to claw their way back to the top. In order to do that, first they will need to beat their opponent; the Cleveland Browns.

#21

Detroit Lions (5-8)

Previous Rank – 20

Matt Stafford is a damn warrior man. Can’t argue with the guy’s toughness, but it looks like he might be doubtful to play this weekend because of a rib injury. That means Chase Daniel will be next in line to take the team under center. If they play it smart, they might have a chance to pull off an upset over their opponent; the Tennessee Titans.

#20

San Francisco 49ers (5-8)

Previous Rank – 18

The 49ers ran into a defensive wall in the form of the Washington Football Team. They just couldn’t get anything going on the ground, and Deebo Samuel got injured and will remain out of the regular season. That means that Brandon Aiyuk will become the number one receiver and he has proven he can handle the workload. They need to get back on track when they face the Dallas Cowboys this weekend.

#19

New England Patriots (6-7)

Previous Rank – 15

They can fight hard one game, and completely implode in the next. This was the case as the Patriots were totally outplayed by the Rams. Cam Newton was virtually decimated and New England had no choice , but to bench Cam after a pitiful performance. Their defense also fell apart against the run as rookie Cam Akers dominated in the ground game. They need to keep going to remain in the hunt. They’ll take on the Miami Dolphins.

#18

Chicago Bears (6-7)

Previous Rank – 22

Have the Chicago Bears finally cracked through their troubles. They were able to best the Houston Texans in impressive fashion both through the ground and in the air. The defense also got back to their dominant roots with a lot of sacks on Deshaun Watson. The overall pressure was just too much for Watson and company. Now they are tied for second place in the division. Chicago’s next opponent is the team they need to beat to get back in the hunt; the Minnesota Vikings.

#17

Washington Football Team (6-7)

Previous Rank – 21

The Washington Football Team racked up another victory, and this time time they got the win over the San Francisco 49ers. Overall, this was mostly a defensive effort as Alex Smith got hurt yet again. The overall pressure was just too much for the 49ers. Chase Young is a monster man. They should get Alex Smith back this weekend, and they’ll look to stay atop of their division with another win. They’ll face the Seattle Seahawks.

#16

Minnesota Vikings (6-7)

Previous Rank – 16

The Vikings drop another loss this past week after failing to get anything going against the Washington Football Team. Dan Bailey could have helped but he missed four kicks that could have brought them more points. It’s a shame. They are now tied with their opponent for this week, so it will be either the Vikings or the Bears that will take second place in the division after the weekend.

#15

Las Vegas Raiders (7-6)

Previous Rank – 14

Yikes, the defense was so bad in this game that Gruden fired his defensive coordinator, and honestly it was the right call. The Colts decimated the Raiders secondary, and also took them out with their run game. Yet again, Carr had to put the team on his back and try to make something out of nothing. The Raiders will face the Chargers this Thursday night.

#14

Arizona Cardinals (7-6)

Previous Rank – 17

Arizona finally moves up after a series of losses with their win over the New York Giants. Kyler Murray looked a lot better and more comfortable running with the ball, and the defense put Daniel Jones on his ass. The Cardinals look to try to make themselves a wild card team when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles this week.

#13

Miami Dolphins (8-5)

Previous Rank – 11

The Dolphins played a great game against the Chiefs, and honestly they should have won this game. The Dolphins defense was able to intercept Mahomes three times on the day. That was more interceptions than he had all season long. Tua also looked like a franchise quarterback in this one. He and the Dolphins will look to get back on track when they take on the New England Patriots.

#12

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (8-5)

Previous Rank – 12

The Buccaneers got another win this time over the Minnesota Vikings. Strangely enough Brady didn’t have to throw bunch against a weak secondary, and instead they ran the ball a lot with Ronald Jones. He fractured his pinky in the contest so we will see how that affects him when the Buccaneers take on the Atlanta Falcons this week.

#11

Baltimore Ravens (8-5)

Previous Rank – 13

This game was incredible. The Monday night encounter between the Ravens and the Browns was nothing short of amazing. The Ravens defense actually struggled quite a bit. Even at one point Lamar left the game (to take a shit in my opinion), and returned when Trace went down with a knee injury to score a touchdown. The Ravens move up closer for a Wilde card spot and for the division and will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend.

#10

Tennessee Titans (9-4)

Previous Rank – 10

Derrick Henry is a bad man. A.J. Brown is a bad man. Both of these individuals took it to the limit against the Jacksonville Jaguars with Henry rushing for over 200 yards and two scores. Brown also went over 100 yards and had a touchdown himself. These two players will be keys to victory this weekend when they take on the Detroit Lions.

#9

Indianapolis Colts (9-4)

Previous Rank – 8

The Colts straight up slaughtered the Raiders last weekend as they put up about 44 points against them. The reason being is that they finally had the ability to run and take the ball out of Rivers’s hands. Taylor went off with over 100 rushing yards and two touchdowns. T.Y. Hilton also got two touchdowns as well. They’ll face the Houston Texans this weekend.

#8

Los Angeles Rams (9-4)

Previous Rank – 8

Okay Akers I see you bud! The Patriots were out on their asses as Cam Akers stole the show with his best showing in his rookie season. He rushed for 171 yards against a stout New England defense. Goff didn’t really have to do much honestly, and the defense kept Newton struggling so much he had to be benched. The Rams will face the Jets this weekend.

#7

Cleveland Browns (9-4)

Previous Rank – 6

Cleveland had this game man, but they were unable to get the victory once Lamar Jackson returned. The team didn’t do bad though. Baker threw a bunch of touchdowns. Kareem Hunt caught one of them, and ran another in. Chubb ran two in. It was a good competitive game that the Browns just didn’t win. They have the New York Giants this weekend.

#6

Seattle Seahawks (9-4)

Previous Rank – 7

Did anyone really think the Jets were beating the Seahawks? Yeah I didn’t think so. Wilson went on a monstrous tear passing for four touchdowns and missing only six passes. The Seahawks have tied the Rams for first place so a date with the Washington Football Team is going to decide the Seahawks fate.

#5

New Orleans Saints (10-3)

Previous Rank – 3

This was my lock of the week… What in the hell happened New Orleans!? The defense played so sloppy against a rookie Jalen Hurts. The kid threw a touchdown, and ran over 100 yards. They couldn’t stop the run to save their lives. Taysom Hill also fumbled the ball and couldn’t get a lot going. He did however pass the ball to Kamara ten times so I’m not complaining about that. It only gets harder from here as the Saints take on the Chiefs.

#4

Buffalo Bills (10-3)

Previous Rank – 5

Well the Bills did it. They beat the Steelers. Suck a d**k Greg Macafee. The Bills struggled at first, but the main weapon Stefon Diggs was able to carve a significant hole in their secondary. Josh Allen and the Bills will now have a much easier task when they take on the Denver Broncos this Saturday.

#3

Green Bay Packers (10-3)

Previous Rank – 4

Green Bay just keeps looking better and better man. They were able to put away the Lions with not a lot of sweat being thrown into it if you catch my drift. The Packers now take the number one bye for the NFC with a Saints loss. They’ll face the Carolina Panthers this Saturday.

#2

Pittsburgh Steelers (11-2)

Previous Rank – 2

Did they lose? Yeah, but they still have a better record than everyone else, but one team. So they keep second place in the rankings. However, the Steelers issues have come once again; Injuries, drops, and no run game. All of these led to a Bills win and another Steelers loss. They’ll face the Cincinnati Bengals this weekend.

#1

Kansas City Chiefs (12-1)

Previous Rank – 1

The Chiefs snuck by the Dolphins for another win this past weekend. Yes the Chiefs should not have won this game. Miami was playing their hearts out, and Mahomes got intercepted three damn times. They shouldn’t have won, but they did and now the Chiefs have another tough task as they take on a Saints team that is looking for revenge after their loss to the Eagles.
