Start’ Em Sit’ Em Tight Ends – Week 14

Starts

Start of the Week –

Dalton Schultz vs Cincinnati Bengals

Schultz might not be the first right end you go to in your leagues, and that is fine, but you cannot argue with this. The Bengals are ranked 29th against opposing tight ends. Andy Dalton could look to get him involved since he quarterbacked the Bengals in the past and knows their weaknesses to tight ends. Give it a shot.

Eric Ebron vs Buffalo Bills

Ebron received 11 targets last week when he faced the Washington Football Team. This speaks volume to how Ben Roethlisberger wants to get him involved as a pass-catcher. He should be at the top of everyone’s list to play as the Bills are ranked 28th at defending against tight ends. Ebron has to start catching balls though instead of dropping them (that goes for all the receivers as well).

Hunter Henry vs Atlanta Falcons

Henry like the rest of the Chargers offense was nowhere to be found last weekend when they got blown out by the Chargers. Henry only had two targets all game with a catch of only five yards to show for it. He should be in a better position this weekend when he and the Chargers take on the Atlanta Falcons. They are ranked 27th in the NFL against defending tight ends.

Rob Gronkowski vs Minnesota Vikings

Gronk smash. Gronk smash. Yes Gronk comes back to our lineups. The matchup itself against the Minnesota Vikings isn’t the greatest, but it is hard to ignore what Gronk did last weekend against the Chiefs. He had six catches for 106 yards. Gronk could be on the comeback especially if the Vikings pay extra attention to guarding against the Bucs’ receivers.

Mike Gesicki vs Kansas City Chiefs

I’m trying to remember why I even put Gesicki as a sit last weekend, and honestly I don’t have a good reason. So to anyone who sat him, I apologize. He has another great matchup this weekend, and could be the best player to get points in this game when he and the Dolphins take on the Kansas City Chiefs. Gronk just put over 100 yards on them two weeks ago, and Noah Fant did decent. Start Gesicki this week!

Sleepers;

Robert Tonyan vs Detroit Lions

Logan Thomas vs San Francisco 49ers

Drew Sample vs Dallas Cowboys

Sits

Sit of the Week –

Zach Ertz vs New Orleans Saints

Man I know three Eagles at the sits of the week. I must be a hater. No they just suck. Ertz worst of all is affected by this because this great right end got a lot of people throughout their fantasy seasons for years without worry. Now with Goedert there, and inconsistency brewing I would definitely sit him against the Saints this weekend. They are in the top ten at defending the position. Just not worth it.

Austin Hooper vs Baltimore Ravens

Hooper was a big disappointment last week as he only caught two of his four targets for 24 yards. He sadly has a decent matchup this weekend against the Ravens, but I will have a hard time starting him after his low scoring points against the Titans.

Hayden Hurst vs Los Angeles Chargers

It’s hard to tell if it is the injury that is affecting his performance, but man Hayden Hurst has been struggling lately. It could also be the fact that he has scored a combined 1.9 points against the Saints this year in his two games against them. Frustrating to say the least. He’s gearing to be more a sit this weekend when he takes on the Los Angeles Chargers. I don’t like it, but it might have to be done.

Jordan Reed vs Washington Football Team

I know this is a revenge game for Reed. Nothing would please me more to go into Washington and show him what he was worth. He even got a touchdown against Buffalo last weekend. However, the Bills suck at defending tight ends. The Washington Football Team is significantly better at defending the position, so maybe leaving Reed out won’t be that bad of a decision for you and your lineups.

Cole Kmet vs Carolina Panthers

Cole Kmet was shining star against the Lions last weekend as Jimmy Graham was only targeted once and failed to catch his only target. Kmet, on the other hand caught five targets for 37 yards and a touchdown. I do not see this happening again though as the Bears go up against the Texans. Temper your expectations on this one.

Busts;

Tyler Higbee vs New England Patriots

Will Dissly vs New York Jets

Jordan Akins vs Chicago Bears
