Moorhead’s NFL Power Rankings – Week 11

#32

New York Jets (0-10)

Previous Rank – 32

The Jets almost did it man. They almost won a game, and it was almost against the New England Patriots. Sadly, they came up short in the final seconds just due to poor defense playing and time management. The Jets are now 0-10 and have a matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers this week.

#31

Jacksonville Jaguars (1-8)

Previous Rank – 31

Jacksonville looked to be getting the better of Green Bay in this one after their special teams scored the touchdown, but everything came crashing down in the end, and they lost. Luton is a rookie and he will learn, but for right now they have to focus against their opponents this week; the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers.

#30

Dallas Cowboys (2-7)

Previous Rank – 30

The Cowboys come off their bye week, and will have a game against the Vikings on Sunday night. Whoever plays quarterback will be interesting, but it will probably be Andy Dalton who recovered off the COVID list and concussion protocol. They’ll still have their hands full against a comeback stricken Vikings team.

#29

Washington Football Team (2-7)

Previous Rank – 29

Washington takes a hard loss against the Detroit Lions. While Alex Smith didn’t throw any touchdowns, he passed for over 390 yards. They relied on their run game combo of Gibson and McKissic to do their damage. We’ll see how that transpires when Washington takes on the Cincinnati Bengals.

#28

Houston Texans (2-7)

Previous Rank – 27

Both the offense and defense are to blame here for the Texans’ seventh loss of the season. For one, the offensive play calling was atrocious. At one point, they opted for a field goal and missed instead of taking the shot. Plus, the defense couldn’t stop the run as both Hunt and the returning Chubb each rushed for over 100 yards. Houston will have a big task now this weekend as they try to knock off the Patriots.

#27

Los Angeles Chargers (2-7)

Previous Rank -26

The Chargers just can’t seem to get a break man. Overall, I think they are a great football team, but they just keep coming up short. Miami beat them, but they should have a great matchup ahead when they take on the winless New York Jets.

#26

Cincinnati Bengals (2-6-1)

Previous Rank – 25

Well the Steelers didn’t play down to their competitors this time as they swallows the Bengals whole 36-10. Burrow was completely overrun by the defense, and the offense couldn’t get much going either. Now they’ll face the Washington Football Team and hope their luck can change.

#25

Denver Broncos (3-6)

Previous Rank – 23

The Broncos played an awful game against a divisional opponent in the Raiders last weekend. They couldn’t stop the ground game to save their lives as both running backs Jacobs and Booker scored a combined four touchdowns. What’s worse is Lock threw four picks in this game. Unacceptable. They’ll look for redemption as they face the Dolphins.

#24

New York Giants (3-7)

Previous Rank – 28

The Giants got another win with a victory over the Philadelphia Eagles last weekend. It was a weird game, but the Giants got the win with an upset against the the equally bad bird team. The Giants will now relax with their bye week.

#23

Philadelphia Eagles (3-5-1)

Previous Rank – 21

The Eagles were starting to worry me before, but this was a bad game. Their defense fumbled at the opportunity to stop Daniel Jones in their tracks, and instead took the loss to a team that embarrassed them. The Eagles are still in first place in their division which blows my mind, but they’ll take on the Cleveland Browns this weekend.

#22

Atlanta Falcons (3-6)

Previous Rank – 22

The Falcons stay out after their bye week. Now they’ll concentrate on this week’s matchup against a divisional rival; the New Orleans Saints. Ryan should have his weapons ready to go, but that defense has to step up against them as they’ll be without Drew Brees at quarterback.

#21

Carolina Panthers (3-7)

Previous Rank – 20

This was a rough one for the Panthers as they took a heavy hit with the loss to Tampa Bay. Bridgewater also suffered an injury and we don’t know how impactful that will be with Christian McCaffrey already out. Their defense was the real letdown here as they let Brady get four total touchdowns against them. They’ll face the Detroit Lions this week.

#20

San Francisco 49ers (4-6)

Previous Rank – 17

The 49ers took another loss this weekend, and it was to the Saints who were mostly without Drew Brees for the contest. The injury stricken team suffered more injuries with running backs McKinnon and Hasty. They can’t heal from the injury bug, and now they will go on their bye week.

#19

New England Patriots (4-5)

Previous Rank – 24

The Patriots launched a full out assault on the Baltimore Ravens and won the game basically implying the same strategy that Baltimore normally does. They ran the ball, and passed when needed. Cam Newton overcame the odds of the Ravens defense, and the Patriots defense kept Lamar in check.

#18

Detroit Lions (4-5)

Previous Rank – 19

The Lions were able to pull off the victory when Matt Prater kicked a 59-yard field goal to beat the Washington Football Team. The Lions are slowly getting to where they need to be. They’ll look to continue their winning ways when they take on the Carolina Panthers.

#17

Chicago Bears (5-5)

Previous Rank – 16

The Bears took a hard hit with a loss last night on Monday Night Football against the Vikings. What’s worse is that Nick Foles apparently injured his back and hip. Now the Bears will try to help their team in the right direction after losing four games straight when they go on their bye week.

#16

Minnesota Vikings (4-5)

Previous Rank – 18

The Vikings with Kirk Cousins were able to win his first ever battle on Monday night against the Bears. Now they have a very favorable matchup on hand with the Dallas Cowboys. Expect all offensive stars to thrive in this game.

#15

Tennessee Titans (6-3)

Previous Rank – 8

Are the Titans not good anymore? They’ve been slacking in recent weeks and now they took a big loss to the Indianapolis Colts. Their defense couldn’t hold Philip Rivers and their offense looked very poor against that Colts defense. Who knows what will happen, but they have a big task this weekend when they face the Baltimore Ravens and this one is going to get heated.

#14

Las Vegas Raiders (6-3)

Previous Rank – 15

The Raiders took down the Broncos and it was in epic fashion. Four scores on the ground and picking off Drew Lock four times through the air. The Raiders are climbing the reigns to try to be one of those surprise playoff teams. Honestly, I hope it happens. I like their team, but we will see what happens when they take on the Chiefs for a second time.

#13

Cleveland Browns (6-3)

Previous Rank – 14

Cleveland ran through the competition following their bye week. Houston didn’t stand a chance against the returning Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt. Both running backs put up over 100 rushing yards. They’ll look to continue in the win column when they face the Eagles this week.

#12

Indianapolis Colts (6-3)

Previous Rank – 13

In a weird turn of events, the Colts came back with a passion and beat the living tar out of the Tennessee Titans. I don’t know if it will always be like this, but they were able to walk away with a win, and players like Pittman and Hines shined. They’ll face the Packers this week in a showdown.

#11

Arizona Cardinals (6-3)

Previous Rank – 11

Arizona took the wind out of Barstool this weekend with a last minute Hail-Mary win over the Buffalo Bills. Kyler Murray has proven he’s the one of the best mobile quarterbacks in the game, and with this win he tied the Seahawks and Rams. This week they’ll get Seattle on Thursday night.

#10

Miami Dolphins (6-3)

Previous Rank – 10

Miami continues to impress with another win, this one being over the Los Angeles Chargers. Tua is doing great at the moment and now he will look to continue his greatness and Miami’s win streak when they face the Denver Broncos.

#9

Baltimore Ravens (6-3)

Previous Rank – 5

Yeah I know I am dropping them a bunch, but the Ravens are blowing it man. The Patriots totally exposed them in this one, and honestly it was through Lamar’s method; running the ball. Although Lamar threw two touchdown passes, it wasn’t enough as the defense crumbled under Newton and the Pats. This week they’ll face the Tennessee Titans.

#8

Seattle Seahawks (6-3)

Previous Rank – 7

Seattle is now in a pickle after taking yet another loss. This time they lost to the Los Angeles Rams. Now their division is wide open for the taking as the Rams, Cardinals, and Seahawks all have the same record. Wilson has to get it together though and losing Lockett, the offensive line being garbage, and the defense sucking, it’s a shame he isn’t beaten up more. This week, Seattle takes on Arizona on Thursday night.

#7

Los Angeles Rams (6-3)

Previous Rank – 12

The Rams won against Seattle, but not in the way I had imagined. Instead of passing a bunch of touchdowns, the Rams won with a ground attack and the defense. The Rams are starting to look like the Rams of old. I like where that’s heading so they’ll face the Buccaneers on Monday.

#6

Green Bay Packers (7-2)

Previous Rank – 6

Green Bay almost lost this one man…and it was against Jacksonville. An odd one to say the least. Aaron Rodgers had to rely on his passing ability to get the job done. It was a weird one, but at least he has another receiver to throw to in the form of Valdés-Scatling. They’ll take on the Colts this weekend.

#5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-3)

Previous Rank – 9

The Buccaneers demolished the Panthers this past weekend. Tom Brady had four total touchdowns, and the defense put the hurt on Teddy Bridgewater. Ronald Jones dominated on the ground with nearly 200 rushing yards. The team now will go and play the Los Angeles Rams.

#4

Buffalo Bills (7-3)

Previous Rank – 3

The Bills took a hard loss this past weekend when the Cardinals dunked on them for a Hail Mary touchdown. Buffalo did play a great game though, and this game could have gone either way. The Bills will let the sting of the match follow them as they go on their bye week.

#3

New Orleans Saints (7-2)

Previous Rank- 4

The Saints were able to get the win, but it was at the cost of their quarterback Drew Brees who left the game with some cracked ribs and a collapsed lung. Now the team will turn to Winston or Hill for answers as they take on the Atlanta Falcons.

#2

Kansas City Chiefs (8-1)

Previous Rank – 2

The Chiefs are coming off their bye week, and they will be facing the Las Vegas Raiders this weekend. The Raiders put the hurt on them their first time facing them. However, I believe the Chiefs will regroup and try to restore their only loss of the season.

#1

Pittsburgh Steelers (9-0)

Previous Rank – 1

The Steelers remain undefeated after a brutal showing against the Cincinnati Bengals. Despite not practicing, Big Ben put the hurt on the Bengals with four passing touchdowns and over 300 passing yards. This team looks like it could legit go undefeated, and we will see when they take on the Jacksonville Jaguars this weekend.
