Look guys I wanna talk about something this morning, something that I find truly interesting.
On Sunday morning a tweet of J. Cole working out on a basketball court surfaced on Twitter.
As we all know, well maybe not most of us, J. Cole was a big time hooper before he chased his dream of becoming one of the greatest rappers of all-time.
He could’ve played at St. John’s University, there were rumors that Roy Williams was trying to bring him to UNC, and Cole grew up in Fayetteville, N.C., just an hour and a half from Chapel Hill.
As you can see from the tweet above, Master P said J. Cole is considering a run at an NBA contract and I don’t really know what to think about this.
Look, we all know J. Cole can hoop. We’ve seen it in celebrity games, we’ve seen it in the summer runs in NYC with Harden and Trae Young and a couple other guys. But, can J. Cole earn an NBA contract and actually play to the standards of the league?
My first thought, No.
It’s so difficult to play in the league these days, athletes are at another level and the North Carolina native is 35-years-old. He may have the game but does he have the athletic ability? I don’t know, but the Detroit Pistons seem to think so as they offered J. Cole a tryout yesterday on Twitter and even mocked up a jersey for him.
Will it pan out? Will J. Cole get his shot at the NBA? I hope so.
BUT I HOPE HE DROPS THE FALLOFF FIRST!!!!!!!
