This week, Johnathan Isaac was in the headlines twice. First was for his controversial stand during the national anthem while also not wearing a Black Lives Matter shirt stating that those actions “weren’t enough to make a change.”
Then, the forward suffered another injury knee injury and tore his ACL against the Sacramento Kings.
Earlier this season, Isaac had injured his knee in the course of a game which sidelined him for 31 games. In the Magic’s first bubble game Isaac he tore the ACL of that same knee. He was wearing a knee brace that was visible and was already risking a lot to play but he had stated that he worked throughout the season to get back for playoffs and didn’t want to miss the opportunity of playing in the bubble.
Here is the injury full speed.
He was taken off in a wheel chair and who knows when he will return. Isaac is one of the better young big men in the league and it is always tragic to see someone with so much promise go down like this with such a painful and possibly detrimental injury. Praying he doesn’t adapt what I call the “Derrick Rose Effect.” Isaac is certainly done this year and hopefully can return next season.
