The Riverhounds have signed Midfielder/Defender Xhelil Asani to their roster for the 2020 season to help strengthen their defense. Asani will be playing his first season in the USL, formerly playing professionally in Russia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia. Coach Bob Lilley seems confident that Asani will be a great addition to both the defensive and offensive part of the game, and is a very technically skilled player.

In his eight-season career, he has played 97 games, starting 78 of those and scoring 2 goals.
With the signing of Asani, this now brings the Riverhounds to a total of 14 players rostered, six of those 14 being defenders. It seems to be that Lilley is addressing the defensive issue first before building the rest of his team. It is going to be interesting to see how the Hounds develop in the preseason training and games starting in February.
