Here it is! The moment we have all been waiting for! The Riverhounds have announced their preseason schedule which starts on February 9th at 2pm against Villanova University. These games are awesome to watch, seeing some of the top talents that local college programs have to offer and see how it matches up to the professional level. Last year, I had the pleasure of attending two of the games and watched the Hounds take on a strong University of Pittsburgh soccer program as well as a rising Duquesne University soccer program (Go Dukes!) This year, the Hounds will see a few new college opponents compared to the past few years (see schedule below).
Of the college teams that the Hounds will be facing this preseason, the game against the University of Pittsburgh on February 19th at 7pm will be a great match up. What is great to see is that the Hounds will conclude their preseason taking on the MLS side Columbus Crew SC, as well as another USL side, Loudoun United FC. As I mentioned before, these preseason friendly’s are a great time, and a cheap night out since all preseason matches are free admission to get in! But wait! It gets better! the bar is open for these matches too!
