Start of the Week –
Allen Robinson vs Philadelphia Eagles
While the passing game for the Bears hasn’t been all that great with Mitch Trubisky back, I still have some confidence that wide out Allen Robinson will make a splash in the stats this weekend against the Eagles. The Bears ran a lot last game, but with the pass defense in Philly being utter trash Chicago will look to capitalize with their best receiver. In fact, the Eagles have allowed 10 touchdowns to receivers lined up out wide which is where Robinson runs about 61% of his routes.
D.J. Chark vs Houston Texans
Chark had a great comeback performance against the Jets as he put up six catches for 79 yards and a touchdown attached to it mounting to almost 20 fantasy points. Chark also got 12 targets which does help his standings this week as he goes up against the Houston Texans for the second time this year. With Dede Westbrook likely to be out, expect Chark to get a lot of looks against a horrible Texans secondary.
D.K. Metcalf vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Metcalf did as much as he could with his targets and receptions last week as Russell Wilson passed two quick touchdowns to him against the Atlanta Falcons. I like his odds this week and I’ll take him doing very well against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who have struggled immensely in the passing game. He might not get as much as Tyler Lockett, but I see Metcalf getting at least one touchdown in this game.
Tyrell Williams vs Detroit Lions
Williams is exactly what Derek Carr needed in this Raiders offense. He has scored in EVERY SINGLE GAME he has played this season. Last week against the Texans he had three receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown. He has truly bonded with Derek Carr as the duo have done incredible damage when Williams has been healthy. Look for him to tear up the Detroit secondary after they just gave up four touchdown passes to Daniel Jones last week. Williams and Waller are for sure plays.
Emmanuel Sanders vs Arizona Cardinals
Sanders did great for his first start on a new team last week as he scored a touchdown. He didn’t see much of anything else after that as the 49ers relied on their run game to beat the Panthers. Fast forward now to Arizona and I see the passing game being a little bit better with Sanders and Kittle leading the way tonight. The only true way that we will see chemistry between Garoppolo and Sanders if he throws more so why not in this game. I’d start him.
D.J. Moore vs Tennessee Titans
Jamison Crowder vs Miami Dolphins
Danny Amendola vs Oakland Raiders
Sit of the Week –
Terry McLaurin vs Buffalo Bills
To be fair, McLaurin was doing decent against Minnesota last weekend, but then Case Keenum got hurt and suffered a concussion. After that Dwayne Haskins came in and couldn’t do much with the football. If Keenum doesn’t play, it looks like Terry will not be too scary this Halloween weekend. It doesn’t help that they are playing the Bills and he will have to go up against corner Tre’Davious White which is a mismatch for the rookie wideout.
Courtland Sutton vs Cleveland Browns
Sutton has turned into a fine fantasy option this season emerging as the Broncos number one target through the air. He now especially has room to work with now with Emmanuel Sanders being sent to the San Francisco 49ers. So why sit him? Joe Flacco is going to be out for about five weeks with a ruptured disk in his neck and Brandon Allen will take over. Putting a new quarterback in the frame is never good, and honestly I see the Broncos running more with Lindsay and Freeman than passing at all in this game.
Larry Fitzgerald vs San Francisco 49ers
Larry Legend has tough outing this Thursday night against the 49ers. Not only that, but it seems like Kyler Murray has taken a special interest in wideout Christian Kirk as he has overloaded him with targets while Larry hasn’t gotten a whole lot. It just doesn’t make sense to play Larry this time. It also doesn’t help that the 49ers have only allowed about four catches per game and one whole touchdown by receivers this year. Sit him this week.
Alshon Jeffery vs Chicago Bears
As much as I love revenge games, this bout doesn’t quite hold a lot of promise with Alshon against the Bears this weekend. The Bears defense while suspect as of late as actually done pretty well at covering wideouts this season. In fact, the Bears have only allowed an average of about nine catches per game to receivers and only one end zone score. At best i’d consider him a risky flex start this week, but if you can avoid playing him I would.
Jarvis Landry vs Denver Broncos
While Jarvis Landry did put up about 11 and a half points against the mighty New England Patriots defense last week I wouldn’t chase points here. The Denver Broncos while bad on the run have managed to give slot receivers only about an average of 55 yards per game and the third least points against the position. Landry is almost always in the slot so I think I will pass on him this weekend.
