Start’ Em Sit’ Em Wide Receivers – Week 6

Start of the Week –

Julian Edelman vs New York Giants

I had Julian Edelman as my start of the week last week against the Redskins and he did his job posting eight catches for 110 yards and a touchdown. This week he gets an equally great matchup against the New York Giants who are terrible against the pass. I see Edelman doing just as well this week with Brady finding his number one target once again.

Tyler Boyd vs Baltimore Ravens

Syndication: Cincinnati

It took a while for Boyd to get going last weekend against the Cardinals, but it proved to be a worthwhile start as he posted ten receptions for 123 yards and a touchdown. He has certainly benefited from A.J Green and John Ross being out from injury and this week he gets another solid matchup against the Ravens who have given up an average of 131 yards and over 21 fantasy points to opposing wide receivers. Consider Boyd a must start this week.

D.J. Chark vs New Orleans Saints

Chark has certainly come out of the blue this season as the number one wideout in Jacksonville. Part of that might be the trust he has bonded with quarterback Gardner Minshew. Regardless, Chark has five touchdowns on the season and almost 500 yards receiving. The Saints are not that great against the pass giving up an average of 194 yards, seven touchdowns and over forty points to receivers per game to wideouts. Chark is a must start this week.

Stefon Diggs vs Philadelphia Eagles

Diggs took a bit of a back seat to Adam Thielen last week, but I see a lot of upside this week against the Eagles. Their defense got a nice stat line last week, but that was against a Jets team without Sam Darnold to command the offense. This week the Vikings offense should remain loyal to the pass game as the Eagles haven’t been the best according to their stats against the pass and their injuries.

D.J. Moore vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Carolina Panthers v New Orleans Saints

Moore’s production level has certainly increased over the last number of weeks as his trust with interim quarterback Kyle Allen as grown. He now faces a decent matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs have not been that great against the pass especially wideouts. The Bucs defense has surrendered five touchdowns and about twenty seven fantasy points to receivers who line up wide. As of last week, Moore ranks third in routes run out wide.

Terry McLaurin vs Miami Dolphins

Calvin Ridley vs Arizona Cardinals

Will Fuller vs Kansas City Chiefs

Sit of the Week –

Mike Williams vs Pittsburgh Steelers

This is an interesting take since the Steelers secondary hasn’t been the greatest. With the additions they acquired however they have done decent with the work they have provided. Now, with Williams he hasn’t done well this year with Rivers going to Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler. I would just avoid this matchup if you have him.

Emmanuel Sanders vs Tennessee Titans

The world of suck got a bit of a reprieve with a win over the Chargers last week, but Sanders really wasn’t involved much in the passing game with Courtland Sutton taking the charge leading in receiving yards. I see this continuing with Sanders being the second in command under Sutton especially against a Tennessee defense that has been very hard against receivers in the past.

Alshon Jeffrey vs Minnesota Vikings

Jeffrey hasn’t been that hot off of his return to the Eagles from injury. Last week he only recorded six receptions for fifty two yards against a poorly constructed Jets defense. This week he has a bigger challenge against the Minnesota Vikings. He would then have a date with cornerback Xavier Rhodes. He also might lose work to DeSean Jackson if he returns. At the most he is a flex start, but there is high risk/reward for him this week.

Marvin Jones Jr. vs Green Bay Packers

Jones has definitely taken a back seat to lead receiver Kenny Golladay since the start of the season. He has had one productive outing against the Chiefs and I do not see his production growing this week against a stout Packer defense who has only given up major points to Amari Cooper when it comes to wide receivers over the course of 2019. Keep Jones on the bench and pray Golladay has a good game if you have him as I put him as a flex starter.

Corey Davis vs Denver Broncos

Davis was a sit for me last week and he proved me right against Buffalo with a pitiful almost five fantasy point performance. Denver’s secondary isn’t that great, but they surprised even me by intercepting Rivers twice and holding their wide receivers to little points. I don’t trust him this week with Mariota going to be under severe pressure from Denver’s defense. Keep Davis on the bench this week.

Geronimo Allison vs Detroit Lions

Golden Tate vs New England Patriots

Demarcus Robinson vs Houston Texans
