Welcome to The Vault, the weekly blog post that takes a look back at some of the best (and worst) jerseys throughout sports history. Each week, a classic set of threads each from the sports of football, basketball, hockey, baseball, and soccer will be revisited.

Football: 1995 Wisconsin Badgers
Our first entry this week might be my favorite jersey I’ve featured to date. The Wisconsin Badgers wore these in just one game in their 1995 season. In that game, they lost 43-7 to Colorado. While the game itself didn’t produce any incredible moments, it did produce one of the most glorious college football jerseys of all time. The Wisco logos on the shoulders are so 90’s Big Ten football it’s not even funny. 10/10, would purchase.
Basketball: 1997 Vancouver Grizzlies
The Vancouver Grizzlies uniforms from the 90’s are considered some of the best in NBA history. It has such a great retro look, from the pattern on the jersey’s trim to the logo on the shorts. The team was awful in 1997, going 19-63. However, the jerseys have gone down as one of the more iconic looks in the game.
Hockey: 1994 Vancouver Canucks
We’re going back to Vancouver for our hockey entry. These sweaters from the 1994 are FIRE. The throwback logo on the front just bleeds nostalgia, and the throwback color scheme is a classic look. The ’94 Canucks went on a Cinderella run after coming into the playoffs as the 7th seed. They made it to the Stanley Cup Finals, where the lost to the Rangers in seven games. While they came up just short of a title, Vancouver’s jerseys will always be connected to the legendary run.
Baseball: Montreal Expos RF Vladmir Guerrero
Our baseball selection this week belongs to an absolute legend of the game, Vlad Guerrero. The Montreal Expos rightfielder hit 449 home runs and had a career .318 batting average. His pinstriped Expos home jersey is iconic in baseball lore and can still be seen being worn everywhere today. It’s also only appropriate Guerrero is featured this week after his son, Vlad Jr., recently made his MLB debut.
Soccer: 1998 English National Team
Our last entry this week belonged to the 1998 English World Cup squad. This jersey has such a great throwback look with the collar and how obnoxiously big they were. This Umbro kit was worn by many English legends, including Michael Owen and David Beckham. While the squad ended up losing in the Round of 16 to Argentina, the kit is one of the best the Brits ever wore.
