Start’ Em Sit’ Em Quarterbacks – Week 11

Okay, people let’s review, shall we? The start of the week last week was Derek Carr. Yeah, that didn’t end up doing well did it? The sit of the week was Cleveland’s own Baker Mayfield who was absolutely terrible. So, a 50/50 isn’t half bad I guess. Let’s focus on week 11 shall we?

Starts

Start of the Week;

Joe Burrow vs Las Vegas Raiders

Burrow is coming off a bye week so he should be refreshed and ready to go to break this losing streak the Bengals are on. A prime opportunity presents itself as the Bengals take on the Raiders this week. The Raiders just gave up over 400 passing yards and five touchdowns to Patrick Mahomes. The numbers won’t be that high, but expect the Raiders to be sore after that one, and expect Burrow to lay the smackdown on Vegas this week.

Ryan Tannehill vs Houston Texans

Tannehill has been doing okay in an offense without Julio Jones and Derrick Henry. That being said, he should be decent in this week’s matchup against the Houston Texans. Their defense hasn’t been great against opposing quarterbacks. Expect him to throw at least one while also rushing one in as it seems like that has been the game plan for the last couple of games.

Mac Jones vs Atlanta Falcons

Mac Jones has been the best quarterback drafted in this past draft class. The kid is doing great things, and it was proven once again last weekend when he slaughtered the Browns defense. I like him a lot this week against the Atlanta Falcons. Their defense is a bunch of mush that continues to allow great points to quarterbacks each week. Start him with confidence.

Tua Tagovailoa vs New York Jets

Tua is still questionable, but he was able to step into the mix when Brissett went down against the Ravens. He has had plenty of time to recover though, and he should be in your lineups this week when the Dolphins take on the Jets. Their defense just can’t seem to let quarterbacks have bad games always serving them double-digit performances. Tua is terrific for this weekend people.

Cam Newton vs Washington Football Team

He’s back people…Cam Newton played very few downs last weekend against the Cardinals, but still was able to score two touchdowns on them. He is most likely to start this weekend for the Panthers when they take on the Washington Football Team. Their team is ranked second to last when it comes to giving quarterbacks points. It will also be interesting to see how Newton squares off against his old coach; Ron Rivera.

Sleepers;

Jimmy Garoppolo vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Daniel Jones vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Joe Flacco vs Miami Dolphins

Sits

Sit of the Week;

Matt Ryan vs New England Patriots

Matt Ryan had a terrible performance last weekend against the Dallas Cowboys. Things are not going to get any better this week as he takes on the New England Patriots who just made mincemeat out of Baker Mayfield. With Patterson injured, he only has one target to throw the ball to; Kyle Pitts. I don’t like those odds and neither should your lineups people.

Carson Wentz vs Buffalo Bills

Now Carson could do well here with the way he has been playing, but I am not hopeful here. he is going up against the best-ranked defense in the NFL right now in the Buffalo Bills. They intercepted Mike White four times last week and could cause problems for Wentz and the Colts’ offense. I would have them rely on the run game with Taylor here instead of Wentz, but that is just me.

Ben Roethlisberger vs Los Angeles Chargers

Now as it currently stands, Ben is still on the COVID list so if he doesn’t play this will go the same way for Mason Rudolph. The Chargers have been letting quarterbacks sneak up a bit in terms of points, but I don’t like the matchup with how the Steelers have been playing. Best to keep him on the bench this week.

Taylor Heinicke vs Carolina Panthers

Heinicke was able to knock off the Bucs in a huge upset. If he only was able to do that last year in the playoffs. Oh well, let’s focus on the now. Heinicke isn’t a favorable option this week as he’ll go up against the Carolina Panthers who are ranked 4th against opposing quarterbacks. It might be interesting with Rivera coaching in this one too, but I’d rather be safe than take a chance here.

Trevor Lawrence vs San Francisco 49ers

Lawrence did okay last weekend against the Colts, but now he faces a defense that picked off Matt Stafford twice; the San Francisco 49ers. Couple with the fact that none of his receivers (aside from Agnew) are really doing anything makes sitting Trevor Lawrence a no-brainer.

Busts;

Baker Mayfield vs Detroit Lions

Trevor Siemian vs Philadelphia Eagles

Tyrod Taylor vs Tennessee Titans
