Start’ Em Sit’ Em Running Backs – Week 10

Just like my quarterback predictions, I didn’t do so hot on my running back predictions either. Josh jacobs did put up double-digit numbers, but Patterson was my sit of the week and he crushed it. So sad that all of a sudden these Falcon players are doing well. Oh well let’s get into Week 10.

Starts

Start of the Week;

James Conner vs Carolina Panthers

Conner was an absolute monster last weekend against the 49ers. Even though the matchup doesn’t seem to be a favorable one, Conner should see a majority of looks due to the fact that Edmonds will be sidelined and a good amount of weapons will still be out for Arizona. Expect him to go off the rails in this one as well.

Chris Carson vs Green Bay Packers

Carson should be coming off of the IR this week, and if that is the case he is an instant plug-in-play for your fantasy lineups in terms of rushing and receiving. It also helps that Russell Wilson should be back as well. Green Bay’s defense has been okay, but overall it doesn’t defend the run well which makes Carson dangerous for this one.

Leonard Fournette vs Washington Football Team

Fournette is coming off a bye week, and he is a great candidate to throw into your lineup this weekend against the Washington Football Team. What was once a dominant defensive has now been letting yards come and go to different individuals. Fournette should be a huge option because of his trust in Brady, his rushing , and his receiving abilities.

Melvin Gordon vs Philadelphia Eagles

Gordon is being a stubborn bull here, but it is hard to argue with the numbers he is putting up. He had 17 points last weekend against the Cowboys, and now he has a good matchup against the Eagles. They are much better at defending wideouts than running backs so expect Gordon and Williams at some point to get a lot of good work in this one.

Devonta Freeman vs Miami Dolphins

Freeman has been a good option for Lamar to use for both rushing and a passing option for the Ravens. He should see plenty of work against a Miami Dolphins defense that is piss poor against defending the run. Murray should be out again so expect Freeman to get a majority of the carries with Bell doing a little bit. Freeman should be a great play for an early Thursday affair.

Sleepers;

D’Ernest Johnson vs New England Patriots

AJ Dillon vs Seattle Seahawks

Kenyan Drake vs Kansas City Chiefs

Sits

Sit of the Week;

Antonio Gibson vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Gibson is still questionable coming off of his bye week which should raise some concerns here heading into a matchup against the Buccaneers. Their rush defense is elite, and honestly, I would look to other options here with McKissic honestly being one because of his pass-catch upside. Gibson however, is just not a smart play this week. Fade him.

James Robinson vs Indianapolis Colts

Robinson should be playing this weekend against the Colts, but that doesn’t mean he will truly be at 100%. He avoided a big injury, and he will be coming back only a week after it. Also, the Colts’ rushing defense isn’t great, but you have to argue how much rushing this team is going to be doing if the Colts get so far up ahead. That would be a sit for me then.

Myles Gaskin vs Baltimore Ravens

Gaskin is still the number one back in Miami, but it isn’t by much. His effort is wasted with different talents on the roster. However, even with him getting a majority of the carries, he isn’t really producing to the level he was drafted in. I would avoid this matchup with the Ravens as it isn’t favorable and I don’t like Gaskin for this game.

Adrian Peterson vs New Orleans Saints

Peterson rushed for some decent yardage and had a touchdown last weekend against the Los Angeles Rams. Technically, this is a revenge game since he was on the Saints for a short time. However, unlike most revenge games, I don’t predict that Peterson will do much in this game against the Saints. Their rushing defense isn’t bad and I expect the other Tennessee running backs to do better.

Mike Davis vs Dallas Cowboys

Davis has become the secondhand man to Patterson, and it shows through this team. This team cannot establish the run if it killed them to do it. This team is a pass-first team. Patterson is a pass-first running back. Mike Davis does not fit into either of those categories. The only place he fits is on your bench.

Busts;

Nyheim Hines vs Jacksonville Jaguars

Boston Scott vs Denver Broncos

Rhamondre Stevenson vs Cleveland Browns
