What a strange week for the NFL last week man…Almost every single team that was supposed to win was upset in an astonishing fashion. Big teams fell, small teams rose, and the power rankings might seem scattered, but I know what I am doing people. So let’s get into it as we have reached the first double-digit week for the season; Week 10.
Detroit Lions (0-8)
Previous Rank – 32
Smart betters probably would have bet that the Lions would have lost to the bye week last week, but all jokes aside, this team sucks so bad. They are on pace to repeat a winless season. They’ll try to break this though when they face off against the Pittsburgh Steelers this week.
Houston Texans (1-8)
Previous Rank – 30
I am not sure what happened here with the Texans. I mean this team wasn’t good, to begin with, but they absolutely blew against the equally bad Miami Dolphins. Tyrod Taylor who returned to action threw three interceptions against this terrible Dolphins squad. They walk away with a loss and will look to regroup when they go on their bye week this week.
Miami Dolphins (2-7)
Previous Rank – 30
The Dolphins come away with their first victory since week one of the season, but it wasn’t a big one to celebrate. Tua didn’t play, there were multiple turnovers for this squad, and overall this game just felt very messy and unorganized as a whole. I hope Tua will get a shot to get back on the field this week as the Dolphins will take on the Ravens this Thursday night!
Jacksonville Jaguars (2-6)
Previous Rank – 31
I’m speechless people. The Jacksonville Jaguars beat the Buffalo Bills…badly. This game was a physical low scoring affair, and honestly, I’m pretty tired of the whole Josh Allen beats Josh Allen take, but with this win, Jacksonville gains a great deal of momentum as they look to improve their record. They’ll face off against the Indianapolis Colts this weekend!
Washington Football Team (2-6)
Previous Rank – 27
The Washington Football Team is really starting to disappoint me, and they didn’t even play this past weekend. They just haven’t been looking like themselves offensively or defensively. They will now come off their bye week with Heinicke still at quarterback. Let’s hope they can start to figure things out since other teams in their division are starting to dwindle a bit. They’ll play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week.
New York Jets (2-6)
Previous Rank – 26
So, is like White the guy or what? Or is it Johnson now? Either way, both quarterbacks seem to be doing better than rookie Zach Wilson has been doing. The Jets still lost this game to the Colts, but they still put up major points against their defense late in the game. It appears that Mike White will be starting this week when the Jets take on the Buffalo Bills so let’s hope for some secondhand magic with this one.
New York Giants (3-6)
Previous Rank – 28
The Giants pulled a shocking win over the Raiders last weekend. The defense actually started coming alive which is crazy to say given at how injury-prone this team has been this year. The Giants will now have an opportunity to heal as they will go on their bye week. Hopefully, names like Barkley can get back on the field soon enough.
Seattle Seahawks (3-5)
Previous Rank – 25
The Seahawks are coming off their bye week, and are slowly looking to get Russell Wilson back as he has started to begin practicing again. The Seahawks desperatley need it as they are sitting in last place in their division. Lockett, Metcalf, and a returning Carson should benefit from Wilson being on the field instead of Geno Smith. We’ll see how this goes this week when the Seahawks face off against the Green Bay Packers this week.
Carolina Panthers (3-6)
Previous Rank – 19
The Panthers are tredding into some dangerous waters here. Sam Darnold will now be sidelined a number of weeks with an injury which leaves PJ Walker as the starter. Honestly, this could help the Panthers given Darnold’s struggles. Moore and Anderson’s status should be increased and having McCaffrey back should help the run game. They’ll need it because this week the Panthers face off against the Cardinals.
Philadelphia Eagles (3-6)
Previous Rank – 23
The Eagles will stay put despite their loss to the Chargers. It was a close one despite the Eagles not producing a lot on the offense. They continue to try to find their identity as a team. Are they a running team? Are they a passing team? Who knows at this point? Their defense still needs a little work though. The Eagles will now try to get back into the winning column when they face off against the Denver Broncos.
Chicago Bears (3-6)
Previous Rank – 22
The Bears had a real opportunity to knock off the Steelers, and they fell short. By short I mean a few yards as Santos missed a 65-yard field goal to win the game. I tell you what though, Justin Fields looked good despite all the pressure the Steelers put on him. However, the refs had other ideas as they peanlized the Bears for over 120 yards in this game. Some questionable calls were made here, but coaching has to come into play for how simple mistakes were made, and the undiscipline that comes into play.
San Francisco 49ers (3-5)
Previous Rank – 20
The 49ers drop a spot after coming up short to the Arizona Cardinals this past weekend. This should have been a much more competitive contest considering that Murry and Hopkins were out for Arizona, and even Chase Edmonds went down with an injury. However, this 49ers team was beaten by Colt McCoy and James Conner. Sad thing to see people. George Kittle is back though which is a great thing for this offense to help out Deebo Samuel. They’ll face off against the Rams on Monday night.
Minnesota Vikings (3-6)
Previous Rank – 18
Mike Zimmer needs fired. The Vikings are the new Atlanta Falcons. They get up by a decent amount of points, and then they end up squandering it in the worst of ways. They had this game won against the Ravens, but because of stupid mistakes and a weird gameplan they fell to a Justin Tucker field goal. Kirk may be alright, but no matter how many offensive coordinators are put into this team, we all know who is trying to run the show. Get rid of Zimmer. The Vikings will face off against the Chargers this week.
Atlanta Falcons (4-4)
Previous Rank – 25
It’s weird for the Falcons to move up so high, but Matt Ryan deserves it after that great of a game against the Saints last weekend. Two touchdowns through the air and one on the ground for the veteran quarterback. This team weirdly doesn’t need to run the ball when Patterson can catch short passes that seemingly mimicks running plays. This team still has some things they need to work on, but it was still a solid win for them. The Falcons will face the Cowboys this week.
Indianapolis Colts (4-5)
Previous Rank – 21
On one hand, the Colts offense looked unstoppable battiling the Jets on Thursday night. On the other hand, the defense let the Jets score a boat load of points late in the game. Carson Wentz looked really good though compared to some games this season, and the rise of Jonathan Taylor continues to puzzle defenses everywhere. The Colts will need another win to get an equal record. We’ll see when they take on the Jaguars this weekend.
Cincinnati Bengals (5-4)
Previous Rank – 11
The Bengals are starting to slip here, and they are slipping fast. They now have back-to-back losses against the Jets and the Browns. This past game they got absolutely blown out by the Browns. Burrow couldn’t connect a lot, and the defense fell to Chubb in the run game and gave Baker confidence in the passing game. The defense has surely lost a step. Let’s hope they can get back on track as they go on their bye week.
Denver Broncos (5-4)
Previous Rank – 17
The Broncos shocked the world with a huge upset over the Dallas Cowboys last weekend. Teddy Two-Gloves was able to punch one in through the air and on the ground. Meanwhile, both Gordon and Williams found a lot of success on the ground. The real star however was the defense who put Dak Prescott in his place in his first return since his injury. The Broncos will now face off against the Eagles.
New England Patriots (5-4)
Previous Rank – 16
The Patriots did what I thought they were gonna do; humiliate Sam Darnold. The offense really didn’t need to do much with the defense intercepting Darnold three times. Still, the running game was split in multiple directions with the only passing touchdown going to Hunter Henry. Overall, not a bad win even with Mac Jones being labeled bad with his tackle on Brian Burns. They’ll face the Browns this week.
Kansas City Chiefs (5-4)
Previous Rank – 14
The Chiefs’ offense was completely dreadful despite picking up a victory over the Green Bay Packers. Mahomes is struggling hard, and you have to argue if Aaron Rodgers played that this would have been a much different game. The Chiefs offense is broken right now, and they have to get this figured out before it is too late. They won’t be in store for too many other easier contests. For instance, take this week’s matchup against the Raiders who are definitely going to be angry after losing to the Giants.
Cleveland Browns (5-4)
Previous Rank – 15
After all the Odell Beckham drama, the Browns came out and whooped the Bengals’ asses on Sunday. It was a blowout, and if that says anything, it says that the Browns didn’t need Beckham. Chubb ran down the throats of the Bengals and Baker was able to find Peoples-Jones for a nice 60-yard score. overall, the Browns were much better, but they’ll have to keep this up when they face the Patriots this week.
Pittsburgh Steelers (5-3)
Previous Rank – 13
The Steelers pulled off a victory at home against the Chicago Bears. It came down to a close one, and honestly, it shouldn’t have really been that close, but silly mistakes came into play including McLoud fumbling the ball on the return which allowed Justin Fields to capitalize with a touchdown. This game was secondhand laundry day as flags flew all over the place. The real star of the game though was Boswell who sealed the deal with a field goal to win the game. Next up to the plate for the Steelers is the Detroit Lions.
Las Vegas Raiders (5-3)
Previous Rank – 10
The Raiders looked like they were going to walk away with the victory over the Giants, but something odd happened…they lost the game. Carr threw one touchdown against two interceptions against a Giants defense that was plagued with mistakes and injuries. Overall, a questionable performance after another member of the Raiders team was cut after a bad choice. The Raiders will face the Chiefs in a divisonal matchup this weekend.
Buffalo Bills (5-3)
Previous Rank – 7
What in the actual hell Buffalo? I know you have been playing a little worse this year, but I didn’t think you would have been so bad that you would have lost to Jacksonville? Josh Allen was incredibly bad posting two interceptions and a fumble. The running game was affected when Zack Moss got taken out with a concussion, and nothing really got going in the receiving game. The defense was able to hold up a bit, but with the offense struggling, nothing really got to where it needed to be. The Bills will face the Jets this week.
New Orleans Saints (5-3)
Previous Rank – 8
The Saints had this game for a long time, but some interesting developments were put in place, and the Saints let this one slip away to Matt Ryan and the Falcons. Overall, it wasn’t a bad performance by the Saints, but I am wondering with Jameis out, why Taysom Hill wasn’t made the starter. It isn’t something to be concerned with, but with Alvin Kamara having a mild sprain in his knee, the game plan might have to be changed. This week they’ll face off against the Tennessee Titans.
Los Angeles Chargers (5-3)
Previous Rank – 12
The Chargers nearly lost this game to the Eagles, but they pulled off a victory. Honestly, with every other team suffering a loss last weekend, they are able to move back into the top ten at the number eight selection. The defense did its best against the rushing attack, but when you suck at defending the run, there is only so much you can do. The offense however was explosive with Justin Herbert taking names. The Chargers will have to keep up this energy when they face the Vikings this week.
Dallas Cowboys (6-2)
Previous Rank – 5
The Cowboys didn’t show up on Sunday, and because of it they absolutely got crushed by the Broncos. Prescott honestly should have been sat this game because he was not sharp in this one at all. Everything about the Cowboys in this one had to make Stephen A. Smith laugh his ass off. The Cowboys will have to prove that last week was a fluke when they have a match against another NFC team; the Atlanta Falcons.
Baltimore Ravens (6-2)
Previous Rank – 9
The Ravens almost gave this one away, but because of the Vikings’ dumb dumb decision-making, the Ravens were able to smash the Vikings with a Justin Tucker field goal. Things seem to be looking great for the Ravens with the introductions of Freeman and Bateman to the offense. The Ravens will have a short week for Lamar and the rest of the crew to get ready as they face the Miami Dolphins Thursday night.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-2)
Previous Rank – 4
The Bucs are coming off their bye week, and they will be looking to get back on to a winning streak. They lost to the Saints before their bye week so they will have to go all out in order for teams to still label them as a serious contender. Brady and the Bucs will face off against the Washington Football Team this week.
Green Bay Packers (7-2)
Previous Rank – 2
The Packers were without Aaron Rodgers for this last game against the Chiefs. Jordan Love should have been able to deliver something a lot better, but man did this kid suck against such a terrible Kansas City Chiefs defense. Everybody suffered on the offense because of this guy. I am hoping that Aaron Rodgers can come back because this team is stupid to think they can rely on Love. The Packers will face the Seahawks this week.
Tennessee Titans (7-2)
Previous Rank – 6
Okay, so this just happened…the Titans knocked off the Rams with virtually no run game. The defense stepped up and was able to knock down Stafford a peg or two. I mean they were getting pressure and sacks virtually all night against what most thought was a decent Rams offensive line. We will see what Tannehill and the offense can still do when they take on the New Orleans Saints this week.
Los Angeles Rams (7-2)
Previous Rank – 1
Just as I talk about the Rams being the best team in the NFL, they go out and underperform against the Tennessee Titans. Of course. It is a weird thing to consider that the Rams were on such a hot streak in the NFL, but I suppose sometimes a team has to get knocked down a few notches in order to realize what they truly are. The Rams will now look to get back to winning when they face off against the 49ers on Monday night.
Arizona Cardinals (8-1)
Previous Rank – 3
It was the James Conner show last week as Kyler Murray, DeAndre Hopkins, and Chase Edmonds were all out because of injuries. He scored three total touchdowns on the day, and he was able to prompt the Cardinals to a big divisional win against the San Francisco 49ers. Hopefully, the injuries start lightening up for the Cardinals because I don’t know if the luck can keep going. They’ll face the Carolina Panthers this weekend.
