Some big games happened this past week. While one thing may have not led to another in terms of wins and losses, I do know one thing about the NFL. Kickers in football are trash. They are man. Fire every single one of them because last week made me wonder why they pay kickers at. So let’s “kick” this into gear and discuss the NFL Power Rankings for Week 6.
#32
Jacksonville Jaguars (0-5)
Previous Rank – 32

The Jaguars fall yet again and stay in last place in my power rankings after a loss to the Tennessee Titans. The good news is that James Robinson looks great once again. The bad news is that this team still sucks. They’ll try to erase their losing streak when they take on the Bills Monday night.
#31
Detroit Lions (0-5)
Previous Rank – 31

The Lions had another heartbreaking loss here this time with only 40-some seconds to go. They are always so close, but they managed to let it slip away from them yet again. They’ll try to win their first game, but it will be against a team that has been pretty good this season; the Cincinnati Bengals.
#30
Houston Texans (1-4)
Previous Rank – 30

It’s weird how the Texans almost won this game against the Patriots when they didn’t score a single point last weekend against the Bills, but here we are. The texans still ended up losing the game, but Davis Mills finally found himself a groove here with over 300 passing yards in this game. The Texans might be onto something here, but they’ll need to keep going. This week they’ll face the Indianapolis Colts.
#29
New York Jets (1-4)
Previous Rank – 29

I hate the Jets man. Zach Wilson is such a fraud that it’s literally insane how he had any success at BYU cause he isn’t having any success here with the Jets. They had a big opportunity to make a statement in London against the Falcons, and overall they just fell apart. Zach Wilson didn’t have a single touchdown pass against one of the worst secondaries in the NFL. Let that sink in. They actually won’t be able to lose this week because it is their bye week.
#28
New York Giants (1-4)
Previous Rank – 24

If there was any team that has been plagued by injuries this year it has been the New York Giants, and more just kept on coming . Lemme run down the names of those that are injured for the Giants. Daniel Jones, Saquon Barkley, Kenny Golladay, Sterling Sherpard, Darius Slayton, and Kadarius Toney. Their entire offense is destroyed so I don’t see them winning games anytime soon. They’ll look to try this week though when they face the Los Angeles Rams.
#27
Miami Dolphins (1-4)
Previous Rank – 27

The Dolphins are gonna be bad this year huh? It doesn’t seem like they have any real drive to succeed in games. They let Brady throw five touchdowns on them in this one. Tua is still hurt, and this defense cannot stop the run to save its life. May god have mercy on their souls. They’ll look to finally get a win though as they’ll face the Jacksonville Jaguars this week.
#26
Indianapolis Colts (1-4)
Previous Rank – 26

The Colts were almost able to knock off the Ravens in charismatic fashion. However, they choked hard, and blew a huge lead they had in the firs half of the game. The Colts also had the ability to end the game with a field goal, but a miss by Blankenship to an overtime matchup with the Ravens getting the ball back and scoring. This was an unlucky one so I am willing to bet they bounce back this week cause they’ll face the Houston Texans.
#25
Atlanta Falcons (2-3)
Previous Rank – 28

Even with Calvin Ridley and Russell Gage out, the Falcons were able to best the Jets with a solid victory. We also got a big performance out of rookie tight end Kyle Pitts. Overall, the team did very well despite not having the best defense as they were able to even intercept Zach Wilson and not allow a single touchdown pass on the day. The Falcons will get some much needed rest as their bye week is this week.
#24
Philadelphia Eagles (2-3)
Previous Rank – 25

The Eagles are so puzzling to me man. Jalen Hurts was able to get touchdowns, but they were on the ground instead of through the air. He also tossed an interception. I am not sure what Miles Sanders is doing, but that comes down to game script and bad coaching. Overall, they still intercepted Darnold three times and won the game. They’ll have a much tougher challenge though this Thursday as they’ll take on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
#23
Minnesota Vikings (2-3)
Previous Rank – 23

The Vikings almost lost this game to the Lions. It’s weird to see the duo of Kirk Cousins and Adam Thielen look so poorly, but maybe Thielen has become touchdown dependent with Jefferson taking the wheel at the wide receiver one position again. Who knows at this point? The Vikings are an interesting boom or bust team that will have a challenge this week when they take on the Carolina Panthers.
#22
Washington Football Team (2-3)
Previous Rank – 19

Things are weird in Washington right now. Their defense is not as elite as we thought, and the team is suffering for it. Gibson and McLaurin continue to do their thing with Taylor Heinicke making some mistakes here and there. The defense has to get better though in order for this team to compete at the level they deserve. They’ll get an interesting matchup here when they take on a bruised and battered Kansas City Chiefs team.
#21
Denver Broncos (3-2)
Previous Rank – 18

When faced with actual competition, it turns out the Broncos aren’t as special as we’d like to imagine. Their hot start as been tainted by losses to the Ravens and Steelers. Despite all of those issues, the Broncos still are at a competing level in their division. They’ll get a nice matchup this week against a Raiders team that is facing more issues than you can count.
#20
New England Patriots (2-3)
Previous Rank – 21

Not sure why the Patriots almost lost this game, but they didn’t coming away with a slight victory over the Houston Texans. Something just seems to be missing from this Patriots offense, but it was their defense here that almost gave the game away. They underestimated Davis Mills as the rookie threw for over 300 yards passing on them which honestly boggles my mind. The Pats will look to make an upset when they face the Dallas Cowboys this week.
#19
Chicago Bears (3-2)
Previous Rank – 21

The Bears came away with a victory over the Raiders, but honestly it wasn’t a great one. At least we got to see Justin Fields throw his first touchdown pass of the season. Still, the quarterback came away a bit hobbled with another injury, and we will just have to wait and see what happens for this team. I am scared for Allen Robinson here, but hopefully things will be okay. They’ll look to add another win when they face a big divisional rival; the Green Bay Packers.
#18
Pittsburgh Steelers (2-3)
Previous Rank – 22

Steelers are back baby with a nice win over the Denver Broncos. Johnson and Claypool both caught touchdown passes, and Najee Harris got another score on the ground and got his first 100-yard rushing game as well. The defense did well even thought they kind of slowed down at the end, but a win is a win. However, JuJu will be out the rest of the season with a shoulder injury that will require surgery. Luckily, the team still has Washington, and they even picked up Anthony Miller for depth. I see big things going forward as the Steelers will face a Russell Wilson-less Seahawks team this Sunday night.
#17
Seattle Seahawks (2-3)
Previous Rank – 12

Speaking of the Seahawks, they drop quite a few spots after their loss to the Rams. Not only was it the loss, but they also will have to try to win games without Russell Wilson as he has a finger injury. Geno Smith isn’t bad, but this team depends on Wilson to get things going with a lackluster offensive line and defense. Chris Carson also has a neck injury which doesn’t help. The team will face the Steeler Sunday night.
#16
Cincinnati Bengals (3-2)
Previous Rank – 16

This was a rough one for the Bengals as I honestly believe they should have won this game, but missed kick after missed kick costed them a win in overtime against the Packers. Overall, the Bengals are showing good promise in the AFC North division. Joe Burrow did suffer a throat injury, but I don’t believe he is any danger of missing any time which is great for the Bengals. They’ll face the Detroit Lions this week.
#15
San Francisco 49ers (2-3)
Previous Rank – 13

The 49ers drop a few spots after their loss to the Arizona Cardinals. The reason being the game style was not great and mostly just showed that Trey Lance can run. Unfortunately, that’s about all he did in this one. He threw an interception and didn’t throw a touchdown. In fact, the only touchdown went to a rushing score by Deebo Samuel. Trey Lance also came out injured. He’ll have a week to recuperate because the 49ers go on their bye week this week.
#14
Carolina Panthers (3-2)
Previous Rank – 14

Sam Darnold showed a lot of promise the first few weeks of the season, but man he has been slowing down particuarly in the one last weekend against the Eagles. The guy threw three picks. A lot of the others didn’t really do much aside from Chuba Hubbard, and they will likely be getting Christian McCaffrey back this week. Let’s hope because this team is starting to show some nasty colors in how they play. They’ll play the Minnesota Vikings this week.
#13
New Orleans Saints (3-2)
Previous Rank – 17

The Saints continue to surprise me because I thought this would have been a very easy win for Washington. That was not the case. Winston pounded Washington through the air with four passing touchdowns. The defense also stepped up a little bit and was able to pick off Heinicke twice in the game. The Saints will now have opportunity to rest as they will enter their bye week for week six.
#12
Las Vegas Raiders (3-2)
Previous Rank – 11

There is a lot wrong with the Raiders right now, but I’ll stick to the stats of last week’s game alone. Man, Derek Carr was bad. The run game was not solid, and the receivers had trouble getting anything going. Their defense also gave up the first touchdown pass from Justin Fields and seems to be unraveling at the moment. Like I said, there is a lot going on in Vegas right now so I am willing to cut them some slack. Here’s hoping they don’t give the Broncos any this week.
#11
Tennessee Titans (3-2)
Previous Rank – 14

Every time the Titans play the Jaguars, Derrick Henry has a monster three-touchdown score game. I knew that was coming. I did expect Ryan Tannehill to play a little bit better with AJ Brown being back, but the two really didn’t accomplish much as Derrick Henry carried the team on his back yet again. The defense was lukewarm as usual, but they got the job done. The Titans will have a hard matchup scheduled when they face the Buffalo Bills Monday night.
#10
Kansas City Chiefs (2-3)
Previous Rank – 7

Everything that seems to be going wrong with the Chiefs is going wrong man. The defense is trash, Tyreek Hill is boom or bust now, Travis Kelce took a hard hit, and CEH is being put on injured reserve. Then Mahomes played probably his worst game of his career against the Bills tossing two interceptions and losing a fumble. Things are down, but I don’t believe they are out just yet for Kansas City. They’ll face the Washington Football Team this week.
#9
Cleveland Browns (3-2)
Previous Rank – 8

What a back and forth one this turned out to be. Honestly, each team played very well here (on offense of course). The defense for Cleveland was stunned giving up over 40 points, and I am still putting a question mark on Baker being the guy here. However, the Browns still lost this game, and now will have to go face another power team that hasn’t lost yet; the Arizona Cardinals.
#8
Dallas Cowboys (4-1)
Previous Rank – 9

The Cowboys got the win over the Giants, but honestly they were facing a team of backups as far as I was concerned. Still, a win is a win,a and right now the Cowboys haven’t lost since week one to the Bucs. The Cowboys will have an interesting matchup this week as Dak Prescott will have to overcome a New England Patriots team who almost lost to the Houston Texans last weekend.
#7
Los Angeles Chargers (4-1)
Previous Rank – 10

Don’t look now, but the Chargers are starting to become my favorite team (aside from the Steelers) in the AFC. They are doing everything right. Justin Herbert looks good, the run game is nice, Mike Williams is coming out for his breakout year, and the defense is doing okay. Herbert was able to put up five total touchdowns in last week’s contest against the Browns. Now we will get another good challenge when they take on the Baltimore Ravens this week.
#6
Baltimore Ravens (4-1)
Previous Rank – 6

Speaking of the Ravens, they were able to pull off a huge comeback victory over the Indianapolis Colts Monday night. Lamar Jackson didn’t throw a touchdown until the end of the third quarter of the game, and he was able to throw four in total. Absolutely incredible people. The Ravens are standing atop of the AFC North division yet again, and they will look to keep it way. However, they have a huge task at hand when they battle the red hot Los Angeles Chargers this week.
#5
Green Bay Packers (4-1)
Previous Rank – 5

The Packers had a chance to win this game early, and honestly after the second time they missed the field goal in overtime they should have lost the game. However, it seems that every kicker had turf toe this past weekend cause the Bengals kicker couldn’t do it either. Overall, the team played well. The combination of Adams and Rodgers is nothing to joke about as Adams went for over 200 yards in this game. The Packers will now face a team they know very well this week; the Chicago Bears.
#4
Buffalo Bills (4-1)
Previous Rank – 4

The Bills fought hard and rightfully deserve their win over the Kansas City Chiefs this past weekend. Josh Allen now in my mind takes the top of the MVP candidate as he had a multitude of touchdowns in this one. It was a huge momentum win for Allen and the Bills. Zack Moss is doing well, Emmanuel Sanders’s value is reemerging, and their defense is top-tier right now in the NFL. They will look to keep going as they face the Tennessee Titans on Monday night.
#3
Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-1)
Previous Rank – 3

What a showing by Brady and the Bucs in this one as they defeated the Miami Dolphins in great fashion. Brady threw for five freaking touchdowns. I mean when is this guy gonna start aging like the rest of us am I right people? Brady is dealing with a slight thumb issue, but it shouldn’t be anything to worry about going into Thursday night’s game when they take on the Philadelphia Eagles.
#2
Los Angeles Rams (4-1)
Previous Rank – 2

The Rams looked good yet again this past Thursday with their victory over the Seattle Seahawks. Their defense has slowed down a bit though, and they even let Geno Smith throw a touchdown on them. However, the offense sure as hell still looked good as both Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp both got their licks in on this Seattle defense. The run game looked good as well with both Henderson and Michel both getting touchdowns. All things considered, this team looks ready for more action, and they are going to get it this week as they face a badly broken Giants team.
#1
Arizona Cardinals (5-0)
Previous Rank – 1

The Cardinals get it done again in this one last week when they beat the San Francisco 49ers. This team was fooled a bit by Trey Lance’s rushing, but as time went on, they were able to squash him like a bug. Hopkins finally found the endzone after weeks of frustration, Kyler Murray still looked good despite not having his usual rushing numbers, and the defense was in the zone once again. The Cardinals will now have an interesting matchup as they’ll look to be continue their undefeated streak when they face the Cleveland Browns.
