You know I have to say I was right about a lot of these wide receiver picks this past week. So much so that I think I am going to get just as many right this week for week five. So let’s not waste any time and get right into it people.
Start of the Week;
Brandin Cooks vs New England Patriots
Cooks was a tough start last weekend as he was only able to muster single digit points. It was a team effort of suck though as the Texans didn’t score a single point against the Bills, and Davis Mills looked like utter trash tossing four interceptions. I think this week might be a little bit better for Cooks. The Patriots have had trouble guarding receivers this season, and Cooks’s target share is just too great to ignore.
Ja’Marr Chase vs Green Bay Packers
Chase is putting together quite the rookie season for himself as he has hit double digit for the fourth straight week. Granted it was his first week without a touchdown, but Burrow had to spread the ball around a lot in this one. I like Chase a lot this week against the Packers. Their defense has been low maintenance against receivers, and Burrow does like to target Chase quite a lot.
Robert Woods vs Seattle Seahawks
Robert Woods owners have to be feeling some frustration here with the reemergence of Cooper Kupp and his connection with Stafford. However, Woods got the touchdown last weekend against the Cardinals not Kupp. It is also really hard to ignore this matchup against such a weak Seattle secondary. Start him with confidence.
Corey Davis vs Atlanta Falcons
Davis finally got back into the good graces of the fantasy gods as he was able to post over 20 fantasy points against the Tennessee Titans. It was his revenge game, but I see the points continuing this weekend early in the morning as the Jets will travel to London to take on the horrible secondary of the Atlanta Falcons. Who knows? They might even get another win.
Jakobi Meyers vs Houston Texans
Told ya people. Jakobi Meyers looked like a natural out there catching passes from Mac Jones. He made the Bucs defense look silly, and he even tossed a couple passes as well. All these great things make me love Meyers even more in this Pats offense. He’ll look to prove me right again when they take on the Houston Texans this week.
Emmanuel Sanders vs Kansas City Chiefs
Laviska Shenault Jr. vs Tennessee Titans
Hunter Renfrow vs Chicago Bears
Sit of the Week;
Odell Beckham Jr. vs Los Angeles Chargers
It’s been a little rough since OBJ’s nice game against Minnesota, and honestly with the game plan going the way it is, I doubt the points come Beckham’s way in this one. He and the Browns will face a Chargers defense that is doing amazing this season. Not only that, but their defense is second in the NFL at covering wideouts. OBJ may be great, but so is the decision to sit him this week.
Allen Robinson vs Las Vegas Raiders
This one is so tough because Allen Robinson was drafted so high. Sadly, the Bears don’t know what they are doing and how to use him. Even with Justin Fields at quarterback, it doesn’t seem like the two have built much chemistry. Maybe now with Fields being named the permanent starter things will change. I can’t take that chance though this week as they’ll face a very frustrated and mad Raiders defense.
Brandon Aiyuk vs Arizona Cardinals
What has happened to Brandon Aiyuk man. This guy was supposed to be the shining light in the receiving department of the 49ers. Unfortunately, that has been less than ideal as Deebo Samuel has reemerged in this offense. I mean even Kyle the full back is getting more targets than Aiyuk. It’s sad to see, and until it gets better I would sit him this week against the Arizona Cardinals.
Courtland Sutton vs Pittsburgh Steelers
It’s really tough to bench the number one receiver and the number one target getter in Denver, but I don’t see this game being exciting. It will be low scoring and full of defensive plays. Sutton may get a good shot now and then in this one, but that alone can’t give me the reason to start him especially if Teddy is out and Drew Lock is in.
Rondale Moore vs San Francisco 49ers
Rondale Moore was one of the biggest waiver pickups after his huge game. However, he has not done really anything since and his points have just kept decreasing. It is really hard as Kyler Murray spreads the ball around to so many weapons. I would say if this week isn’t good (it won’t be) then it might be time to drop the kid. We’ll see what happens when Moore and the Cardinals face the 49ers this week.
Robby Anderson vs Philadelphia Eagles
DeVante Parker vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jalen Reagor vs Carolina Panthers
