Starts
Start of the Week –
T.J. Hockenson vs Tennessee Titans

Hockenson should still be started despite Stafford possibly being out of the contest. He had 11 targets go his way last weekend against the Packers and was able to muster 55 yards and a touchdown. He is the best target for the Lions and should improve in targets with Chase Daniel under center.
Robert Tonyan vs Carolina Panthers

Tonyan has scored a touchdown in four straight games despite the matchups. He should be Aaron’s second favorite target yet again when they face the Carolina Panthers this weekend. They are 26th against tight ends so if you got him, play him.
Evan Engram vs Cleveland Browns

Engram laid a stinker last weekend against the Cardinals as Daniel Jones just couldn’t get connected with any of his pass catchers. The tide should turn blue as his jersey though as they face the Cleveland Browns who are terrible at guarding the tight end position.
Eric Ebron vs Cincinnati Bengals

Like Johnson, Ebron has had his fair share of struggling drops in the Steelers offense. He might lose some snaps, but I still like him as a tight end to play this weekend against the Bengals especially in the red zone.
Rob Gronkowski vs Atlanta Falcons

Gronk caught a touchdown last weekend, but other than that did virtually nothing as Tom Brady didn’t pass much in this game. The passing among targets should go up though as they face the Falcons who are terrible against the pass, and are terrible at facing tight ends. They are 28th in the NFL.
Sleepers;
Dallas Goedert vs Arizona Cardinals
Noah Fant vs Buffalo Bills
Cole Kmet vs Minnesota Vikings
Sits
Sit of the Week –
Logan Thomas vs Seattle Seahawks

Logan Thomas has been a great help to the Washington Football Team’s success as of late, but I would temper his expectations this weekend against the Seahawks. It also pays notion that Alex Smith probably won’t be 100% for this one either.
Zach Ertz vs Arizona Cardinals

While I have Goedert as a sleeper, I have Ertz as a sit because he just hasn’t done the job needed to get it done. The Cardinals are 5th overall at defending tight ends, and given the playing style of Hurts, we aren’t sure what connection he will have with his tight ends yet.
Dalton Schultz vs San Francisco 49ers

Schultz did a decent job against the Bengals last weekend, but he is a fade for me against the San Francisco 49ers this weekend. Their defense is number one at defending against tight ends. He also hasn’t seen a touchdown since week 11.
Jonnu Smith vs Detroit Lions

Smith started off hot, but he appears to have sizzled out in recent weeks since coming off an injury. The Titans are a run first team, and when they are throwing it normally goes to Davis or Brown. Smith honestly should be sat or even dropped at this point.
Austin Hooper vs New York Giants

Hooper is questionable for this game, but even if he does play he isn’t a favorable option against a Giants team that is in the top ten at defending against the tight end position. Also he is harboring a neck injury that might impact his status for this Sunday’s game. It also begs to note that David Njoku did decently well against the Ravens.
Busts;
Drew Sample vs Pittsburgh Steelers
Dawson Knox vs Denver Broncos
Jordan Akins vs Indianapolis Colts
