Start’ Em Sit’ Em Quarterbacks – Week 12

Starts

Start of the Week –

Taysom Hill vs Denver Broncos

I can’t believe I am even typing this right now…but yes Taysom Hill is my start of the week. When they played the Falcons, Hill had over 200 passing yards, over 50 rushing yards, and two rushing touchdowns. As much as I despise him being an Alvin Kamara owner, he is perfect for this week as he faces a Denver Broncos team that has been on the downside of attacking quarterbacks lately.

Justin Herbert vs Buffalo Bills

Herbert has basically become a starter no matter what, but a lot of people are a bit timid when starting him against the Bills for some reason. Don’t be discouraged. The Bills defense has not been great against quarterbacks. In fact, they are 28th out 32 which bolds well for Herbert owners. He and Keenan Allen have built a wonderful partnership and it should show in this one just like against the Jets last weekend.

Cam Newton vs Arizona Cardinals

Cam threw for nearly 400 yards last weekend against the Houston Texans. I like him a lot when he faces the Arizona Cardinals. They are 25th out of 32 against opposing quarterbacks. The run game from Newton should help the Pats out a bunch too considering they will be down Rex Burkhead as well. The way the Cardinals defense has been playing, I assume Cam might get some good licks in for this game.

Philip Rivers vs Tennessee Titans

Rivers has been on a hot streak the last two weeks beating both the Titans and Packers and scoring a combined 40 points to boost. Rivers and the Colts face the Titans again this week, and I believe he will actually score more points than in his first outing. With the rise of Pittman and the use of his running backs and defense, Rivers is a nice streaming start this weekend.

Daniel Jones vs Cincinnati Bengals

Normally Jones would be found on my bench or in the bust section, but he has a great matchup on schedule against the Joe Burrow-less Cincinnati Bengals. Their defense is atrocious, and the Giants have been sort of on the upwards trend with Coach Joe Judge. Jones is a very interesting streaming option indeed against such a bad defensive unit.

Sleepers;

Derek Carr vs Atlanta Falcons

Tua Tagovailoa vs New York Jets

Alex Smith vs Dallas Cowboys

Sits

Sit of the Week –

Carson Wentz vs Seattle Seahawks

I can’t do it anymore guys. I put Wentz up in the start column twice against poor defenses, and he has disappointed me every twist and turn. So when he has a promising matchup against the Seattle Seahawks, I am going to tell you to sit him this time. The Seahawks defense isn’t great, but they put the hurt on Kyler Murray last Thursday, and the Eagles line is worse than the Cardinals line. Good luck Wentz.

Tom Brady vs Kansas City Chiefs

Brady has a decent matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, but honestly he is hard to decide whether to start or sit him. He seems to come out short in big time games aside from beating Aaron Rodgers. However, he couldn’t beat Brees and the Saints twice, or the Rams last Monday night. Is he going to score point? Sure, but against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs doesn’t seem like one he can win.

Ryan Tannehill vs Indianapolis Colts

Tannehill was not the sharpest against Baltimore like I had predicted, but in the end the Titans got the victory with help from one Derrick Henry. The Titans now have to play the Colts again, and Tannehill struggled heavy last time against them. My thoughts are that the Titans run game will be better, but I’m not sure about Tannehill. If you take out last week’s match against the Ravens, Tannehill had not scored above 18 points since week seven against the Steelers. I’d fade on him this weekend.

Baker Mayfield vs Jacksonville Jaguars

The matchup looks appetizing being that Jacksonville is 30th against opposing quarterbacks, but the recent weeks haven’t persuaded me to start him as the last three weeks have him combined at 19 points. That’s 19 points in total for the last three weeks against decent matchups. They are going with a run heavy option here, and I trust Chubb and Hunt on the offense more than Baker for the rest of the season. He’s only scored 20ish points once and it was against Cincinnati.

Kirk Cousins vs Carolina Panthers

Cousins proved a really good three touchdown performance against the Cowboys, but the Vikings still came up short. Now with Adam Thielen maybe not able to play and the Carolina defense keeping the Lions to a goose egg make this a really hard situation to trust Cousins this week. Plus with the rushing defense being worse, my mind has it that they will run Dalvin Cook a lot instead of throwing the ball.

Busts;

Ryan Finley vs New York Giants

Mike Glennon vs Cleveland Browns

Mitch Trubisky vs Green Bay Packers
