This week was supposed to be another great week of sports as Tiger Woods was set to defend his green jacket at The Masters golf tournament.
I don’t know if you remember, but last year the G.O.A.T solidified his return to golf by winning The Masters in historic fashion. I mean, he’s done it before, but last year was a special moment in Tiger’s career. I mean, look at this celebration. The emotion. The happiness. The relief. It was truly something special.
After a stretch of rough times, Tiger finally did something he had been looking to do for quite some time. He won The Masters in historic fashion and it was seen has one of the greatest sports feats of the year.
This week, Tiger was set to have the opportunity to defend that title. But, because of everything happening with COVID-19 The Masters, along with a few other PGA events, have been postponed.
On Monday, the PGA Tour announced the new dates for those golf tournaments.
Now, the Masters will take place from November 9-15, the PGA Championship will be played from August 3-9 and the US Open will be played on September 14-20. The Wyndham Championship and the FedEx Playoffs have also been moved back one week and will be played August 10 – September 7.
The Open Championship has also been cancelled completely.
Although the tournaments have been moved the fact that they will still be played is BIG news and hopefully we will, soon enough, be seeing Tiger don the green jacket for the second straight year.
