Hey Hockey Fans,
So a lot of little things are happening right now though I would just make a big article with a bunch of little stuff.
Minnesota Wild Fire Bruce Boudreau
So we all saw this coming. One, Bruce was not Bill Guerin’s Guy so its no surprise that since the official re-build button has been hit that Billy G would get Bruce out. Now Bruce is still a great coach and I think will land on his feet somewhere at the begging of next season.
Zack Kassian still sucks.
Lats night Zack “The Angel” Kassina successfully kicked a player int he chest with his skate.
I swear to god Zack Kassian is what would happen if Happy Gilmore would have made the team. When asked about the event Kassian was quoted as saying, “If I kicked him hard, I think he would have flown back, or the ref would have called a penalty”. To quote the great Mark Madden what a piece of dog excrement.
Sabers put Bogosian on wavers.
If you are a team looking for a bottom pairing or 7th DMan this may be a steal. He is only 30 and I believe he still has more good hockey left in him.
A Couple of Trade Rumors
Kreider to Blues
Pierre LeBrun is saying that the Blues are going to attempt to acquire Chris Kreider from the Rangers. That would be a huge get for a team missing Vladimir Tarasenko. I like Kreider on that team he is big and likes to play physical he would fit right into that lineup.
Getzlaf to Oilers
Deke may want to plug his ears for this one. As the Ducks continue to slide to the bottom of the Western Conference they look to be sellers at the deadline. Though a total rebuild seems unlikely they could benefit from moving out some more core pieces. The offseason saw the departure of Corey Perry. Now the Ducks are considering asking Getzlaf to waive his no-move clause. Getz is 34 and has 12 goals on the season. The rumor is that the Oilers would give up Ryan Nugent-Hopkins in exchange for the veteran center.
Leafs and Oilers
The Oilers could be a different looking team by the playoffs if this is all true. Apparently, the Oilers are very interested in Kasperi Kapanen. The Leafs have said they would want Adam Larrson and Jesse Puljujarvi in exchange for the young winger. Larrson has been a bust since getting to Edmonton and Puljujarvi has stated he will not be resigning in Edmonton this offseason.
Jay Bouwmeester
Finally, Jay Bouwmeester underwent successful implantable cardioverter-defibrillator surgery. This most likely signals the end of his NHL career. He is 36 has been in the league since 03 and has won a Stanley Cup. He played the first ten years of his career without ever making the playoffs. Now he has a ring. Great career Jay please take care of your health.
