Start’ Em Sit’ Em Quarterbacks – Week 15

Start of the Week –

Jimmy Garoppolo vs Atlanta Falcons

Jimmy G came out swinging in a huge contest against the Saints with four passing touchdowns. I’d expect him to do the same against a vulnerable Falcons defense who just lost Trufant to a season ending injury. Atlanta’s defense has given up 24 passing touchdowns and the third most fantasy points to quarterbacks. Start Jimmy G with confidence.

Tom Brady vs Cincinnati Bengals

NFL: Super Bowl LI-New England Patriots vs Atlanta Falcons

Tom has been a struggle bus this season with barely anything to work with aside from Julian Edelman. However, it is hard to argue with his matchup against the worst team in the NFL right now. The Bengals defense has given up major points to quarterbacks. So why it might seem a little odd throwing Father Time in here, take the hint and roll with him.

Ryan Tannehill vs Houston Texans

NFL: Kansas City Chiefs at Tennessee Titans

Tannehill truly feels like a star again the way he has been playing. He provided big numbers once again against the Houston Texans who give up a lot of points to quarterbacks. In fact, not only have the Texans give up 20 plus to quarterbacks in the last two weeks, but one of those performances was from rookie quarterback Drew Lock from the Broncos. Get Tannehill in your lineup this week.

Jameis Winston vs Detroit Lions

In football it is hard to trust Jameis Winston. In fantasy however, he seems to be heading in the right direction. He scored five total touchdowns last week and now he goes up against a very weak defense in the Detroit Lions. Even with a broken thumb Jameis Winston is expected to be a big play this weekend.

Baker Mayfield vs Arizona Cardinals

Mayfield had a very poor showing last weekend against the Bengals throwing two picks, but ran in for a score. Overall, it wasn’t well, but he still has a shot at doing some good for fantasy owners against a very bad Arizona defense. Over the last four weeks, their defense has given up the most passing yards per game and the fifth most fantasy points to enemy signal callers. This could be a shootout which helps Baker’s case as a start this week.

Jared Goff vs Dallas Cowboys

Kyler Murray vs Cleveland Browns

Gardner Minshew vs Oakland Raiders

Sit of the Week –

Mitch Trubisky vs Green Bay Packers

Trubisky had a fantastic day against the Dallas Cowboys throwing for three touchdowns and running in another. So why the Sit of the Week? Trubisky has done well because he faced some poor defenses. While the Packers aren’t the greatest, they are better at defending the pass than the run. Plus it’s a Lambeau Field and the Packers have given up only nine touchdown passes. Avoid Mitch this week.

Matt Ryan vs San Francisco 49ers

Matt Ryan proved me wrong with a fantastic performance last weekend against the Panthers. However, this one against the 49ers is a bit of a shaky one even with their shoot out last weekend against the Saints. Matt Ryan also may be without his main weapon Julio Jones once again who showed with a nagging shoulder issue which doesn’t bold well for his status throwing the ball against arguably the best defense in the NFL.

Josh Allen vs Pittsburgh Steelers

Allen has been great this season don’t get me wrong. However, we saw what happened when he faced a good defense last week with the Ravens. Now he faces an even better defense in the Steelers on the road. The Steelers have only allowed an average of 11 and a half points to opposing quarterbacks at Heinz Field. Just look at what they did to Lamar Jackson who has been the best quarterback in 2019.

Kirk Cousins vs Los Angeles Chargers

Kirk did a good last weekend, but that was against an awful Detroit defense. Now he faces the Chargers that have allowed eighteen touchdown passes and the sixth fewest fantasy points to opposing signal callers on the season. Kirk will have a challenge ahead of him in this one that is for sure.

Jacoby Brissett vs New Orleans Saints

Brissett has a big task at hand this weekend against the New Orleans Saints. While their defense gave up major points to Jimmy G and the 49ers last weekend the Colts don’t have that kind of offensive power and Jacoby Brissett hasn’t been that great in recent weeks. I’d simply avoid this matchup this week and look elsewhere.

Sam Darnold vs Baltimore Ravens

Andy Dalton vs New England Patriots

Ryan Fitzpatrick vs New York Giants
