Start of the Week –
Matt Ryan vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Matt Ryan has had an up and down year this season in fantasy terms, but he gets a delicious matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Their defense is awful. In fact, their defense is 31st in total against opposing quarterbacks and 31st against the pass in general. Matty Ice should have one hell of a performance against this terrible pass defense. Lock him up as your start of the week this week.
Josh Allen vs Denver Broncos
Allen quite possibly had the best game of his NFL career last weekend against the Dolphins with four total touchdowns. He now looks towards the Broncos this weekend in Buffalo. Though the Broncos are normally brutal against opposing quarterbacks, Allen has proven he can handle the pressure. I mean Kirk Cousins came back and won it for the Vikings against the Broncos last weekend so who says Josh Allen can’t put up some good points against a decent defense.
Baker Mayfield vs Miami Dolphins
Well it’s finally happened. Baker is out of the sit’ em column…for now anyway. He put up three total touchdowns against the Steelers’ elite defense and now he faces just an awful one this week with the Dolphins. It is hard to argue the matchup as the Dolphins average about 21 total points to opposing quarterbacks. I certainly am not happy about it, but it is safe to say to start Baker this weekend.
Carson Wentz vs Seattle Seahawks
Wentz did poor last weekend against the Patriots, but not as poor as expected. This weekend he gets the Seahawks who are relying on their offense rather than their defense this season. In fact, their defense has allowed an average of over 18 points per game to opposing quarterbacks. If they can figure the deep ball out then Wentz is a start from me to you.
Derek Carr vs New York Jets
Carr is having a great season am I right? With scoring 19 plus fantasy points in the last three weeks it makes him a viable streamer for those in need of a quarterback this weekend. The New York Jets may be elite against the run, but they struggle heavily against the pass. They have allowed nearly 19 fantasy points per game to opposing quarterbacks. Suit him up if you need someone boys and girls!
Sam Darnold vs Oakland Raiders
Nick Foles vs Tennessee Titans
Jeff Driskel vs Washington Redskins
Sit of the Week –
Jared Goff vs Baltimore Ravens
Well it’s official. Jared Goff is a shell of his former self. He was a sit for me last weekend and all he did was throw an interception. Goff cannot be trusted in fantasy moving forward. Hence he is my sit of the week against the Baltimore Ravens. Not only did they make fools out of Deshaun Watson last weekend, but the Ravens defense has only allowed an average of a little over 13 points per game to quarterbacks. Sit him.
Aaron Rodgers vs San Francisco 49ers
Now look I get it. You are coming into prime playoff contention or defending your crown, so if you’ve got Aaron Rodgers chances are that you are playing him. Be warned however to be extremely cautious of his performance. In terms of fantasy, he just isn’t the guy to rely on these days as he has scored less than 15 points six times this year alone. Add to the fact that he faces the 49ers who are the second best defense against quarterbacks and you are playing with fire. So if you start him just be warned so you don’t get burned.
Jimmy Garoppolo vs Green Bay Packers
Speaking of the Niners, let’s address their quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo as he also finds himself on the sit’ em portion this week. Jimmy had an amazing performance yet again against the Arizona Cardinals, but he is still turning over the ball more than I like. Let’s also remember that he is going to be without running back Matt Breida and could be without wideouts Emmanuel Sanders and Deebo Samuel plus tight end George Kittle if he can’t return healthy. Add to the fact that the Green Bay defense has only allowed an average of about 15 points per game to opposing quarterbacks and it just doesn’t seem smart to play him.
Jameis Winston vs Atlanta Falcons
I’d like to take a moment of silence for Jameis Winston’s last year with the Bucs. I can’t even believe I told you guys to start him last weekend. He now leads the league with interceptions with a total of 18 and he has 19 touchdowns. Just awful numbers as this guy couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat. Fade on him against the Falcons. Even though it seems like a strong matchup it isn’t. The Falcons defense has come alive in recent weeks and I wouldn’t be surprised if they made a fool out of Mr. Crab Legs here.
Daniel Jones vs Chicago Bears
Daniel Jones is coming off a bye week and normally that is a good thing because he is reenergized and ready to fix his wrongs from the past games. Sadly, I wouldn’t play him this weekend even after his huge performance against the Jets two weeks ago because now he faces the Chicago Bears. Don’t get me wrong here, Chicago has seen better days, but they have only allowed nine touchdown passes and the fifth fewest points to enemy quarterbacks. Danny Dimes needs to meet your bench this week people.
