Start’ Em Sit’ Em Running Backs – Week 10

Start of the Week –

David Montgomery vs Detroit Lions

David Montgomery proved to me that he can be the workhorse of this crappy Bears team this year. He is now a solidified RB2 for the rest of the year and now he faces his biggest opportunity this week against the Detroit Lions. The Lions are awful against the run and it was proven last weekend when rookie Josh Jacobs ran for 120 yards and two rushing touchdowns against them. I see Montgomery having a similar result, but only if Trubisky can move the ball when needed.

Mark Ingram vs Cincinnati Bengals

Mark Ingram proved me wrong last weekend when I had him as a bust against the New England Patriots. He rushed for 115 yards on 15 carries. he did fumble, but the pros outweigh the cons here. He should have a fabulous day against the Cincinnati Bengals who are the worst defense against the run this season. I predict that both Jackson and Ingram have fantastic days on the run just like last time.

Josh Jacobs vs Los Angeles Chargers

I will forever love the fact that I took Jacobs in the third round because this kid has been spectacular this season. Up against a poor Lions run defense, Jacobs produced 120 yards on the ground and two rushing touchdowns. He will look to have the same success against the Chargers who aside from last weekend haven’t been the greatest against the run. With Carr being pressured, Jacobs should even see passes out of the backfield and some dominant runs as well.

Melvin Gordon/Austin Ekeler vs Oakland Raiders

It seems like the duo of the bolts are finally back with both having really nice stat lines against the Green Bay Packers last weekend. Gordon had two rushing touchdowns with 80 yards rushing and Ekeler had 70 yards on the ground himself on less carries. These two each sway a healthy option for Week 10 against the Raiders who have been susceptible to damage by pass catching running backs. Start either this week and you should be fine.

Devin Singletary vs Cleveland Browns

Singletary got unleashed last weekend with 95 rushing yards and a rushing score while also catching passes for 45 yards on the day. Granted that was against the Washington Redskins who put little to no defense against the Bills so it was easy to run all over them. This weekend he goes up against the Cleveland Browns who are better at defending against the run than the Redskins, but I have a feeling Singletary will hit pay dirt once again in this game.

Marlon Mack vs Miami Dolphins

Jaylen Samuels vs Los Angeles Rams

Ronald Jones II vs Seattle Seahawks

Sit of the Week –

Joe Mixon vs Baltimore Ravens

Even with Andy Dalton being benched and Ryan Finley coming in as the starting quarterback it does nothing for the production of Joe Mixon in my mind. The offensive line cannot block to save their lives and even that being said, Mixon has been just an awful running back this year. To make matters worse for him, A.J. Green has a shot to return and that might take him out of contention for the passing game now as well.

Devonta Freeman vs New Orleans Saints

Freeman is coming off his bye and maybe he’ll wish he just stayed there as he has unfavorable match against the New Orleans Saints. He will most likely be the one person in Atlanta that doesn’t score a lot of points as I am predicting this match to be a shoot out. I just don’t see him being a major factor as Matt Ryan should be back to full health and tossing dimes to his receiving core of Jones, Ridley and Hooper. Leave Freeman out of the equation this weekend.

LeSean McCoy vs Tennessee Titans

Baltimore Ravens v Kansas City Chiefs

McCoy might officially be in the Kansas City dog house. He has constantly fumbled the ball on so many occasions that he might have actually been benched. It doesn’t help that Damien Williams made a huge case last weekend for him to be the starter again as he ripped off a huge 91 yard touchdown run against the Minnesota Vikings. McCoy will be tough to rely on from now until he can prove himself and I do not see him doing that against the Titans this week.

Kenyan Drake vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Drake tore the roof of the place making his debut against the San Francisco 49ers with a rushing touchdown, over 100 yards on the ground and plenty of targets in the passing game as well. However, rumor has it that David Johnson might be making his return to action and one is sure how much Kenyan Drake will have to do now that Johnson is returning. If he doesn’t return that matchup against the Bucs isn’t a favorable one so I would fade him anyway this weekend.

Kalen Ballage vs Indianapolis Colts

With so many teams on a bye you might be looking in dark places to get your points. Last weekend Mark Walton got suspended and now Kalen Ballage will get the start with no other running talent gracing Miami’s toilet bowl athletic ability. If you are desperate enough you might try to pick Ballage up in wake of the Walton suspension. I am telling you not to do this as this was would be horrible for your fantasy team. Nothing pops up as special and honestly I just don’t see the ability to play him.

Derrick Henry vs Kansas City Chiefs
