Week four is upon us everybody which means more starts and sits of every position offensive position. Let’s get started!
Start of the Week –
Philip Rivers vs Miami Dolphins
Three start of the weeks in a row against the disgruntled Miami defense and that should tell you something. Philip Rivers has had a very decent season this far and he will look to up in stat line against this terrible team. Look for a lot of people on the Chargers to do good as well in particular running back Austin Ekeler and receiver Keenan Allen.
Kyler Murray vs Seattle Seahawks
Murray hasn’t been the worst fantasy quarterback option thus far in the season and I do not see him slowing down in this matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. In terms of a fantasy perspective the Seahawks have allowed an average of 18 points to opposing quarterbacks. The way that Murray has been throwing especially to Christian Kirk and Larry Fitzgerald is a good thing I can expect out of the quarterback this week.
Jacoby Brissett vs Oakland Raiders
Brissett is coming off a huge win against the Falcons throwing for over 300 yards and two touchdowns. I expect him to do just as well against a Raiders defense that has struggled since their week one matchup against the Broncos. I do expect the run game to be the main factor, but I wouldn’t doubt seeing Brissett do damage through the air as well.
Daniel Jones vs Washington Redskins
Okay kid I see you now. Daniel Jones had a massive debut against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers basically without Saquon Barkley as his running back. Jones threw two touchdown passes and also ran two in. Jones has a very tasty matchup against the Washington Redskins this week who just gave up three passing touchdowns to Mitch Trubisky who had none prior to that contest.
Matt Ryan vs Tennessee Titans
Matty Ice has been up and down this season with fantasy. He has the most interceptions out of any quarterback thus far, but he has done surprisingly well especially at home and the Falcons host the Titans who have been awful since their week one win against the Browns. Consider Ryan a big starter this week as the Titans gave up huge points to rookie Gardner Minshew last week.
Case Keenum vs New York Giants
Gardner Minshew vs Denver Broncos
Mason Rudolph vs Cincinnati Bengals
Sit of the Week –
Kirk Cousins vs Chicago Bears
Having Kirk Cousins on my fantasy team last year had its ups and downs and certainly one of those downs was when they faced Chicago. Khalil Mack was his worst nightmare and Kirk ultimately couldn’t rise to the task of beating out this defense. If the game against Washington had gone different he wouldn’t be the sit of the week, but that isn’t the case. Don’t start him this week.
Baker Mayfield vs Baltimore Ravens
Man Mayfield hasn’t been the reliable option he once was. He now has more interceptions than touchdowns this season even with the amount of weapons he has at his disposal. I would avoid this matchup at all costs as he takes on a Ravens defense that intercepted him three times in their last meeting and it could very well repeat itself this week.
Josh Allen vs New England Patriots
Allen got the job done last week doing a very impressive job against a shaky Bengals defense. This week however he gets a challenge of knocking off the defense of the defending Super Bowl champions; The New England Patriots. Allen will be doing well on the ground in my mind considering he will be running for life, but overall that isn’t enough to invoke a start of him in my mind.
Jameis Winston vs Los Angeles Rams
Winston was a sleeper for my list last week and he produced very well against a very sloppy New York Giants defense. This week however is exactly the opposite as he faces a Rams defense that has given Cam Newton, Teddy Bridgewater and Baker Mayfield plenty of trouble in their past matchups. This isn’t the time to chase points so be smart and sit him this week.
Carson Wentz vs Green Bay Packers
Wentz has his work cut out for him this week as he faces a strong Packers secondary that has held quarterbacks to just one passing touchdown and four interceptions this season. I expect that the run game will be the priority here with Miles Sanders and Jordan Howard. Plus Wentz still doesn’t have all his weapons back which adds to the frustration of his fantasy owners. Avoid him this week.
