Premiere League Expectations for Man U

What. A. Weekend. This week, the NFL preseason starts for every team outside of the Falcons and Broncos, as well as the Premiere League! Woot Woot. Hands up for everyone who wants to see Southampton win the league? No one? Just Greg? Ok then.

I’m super excited for this season, mainly because Man U actually has some new talent. Not the talent we expected to have, (RIP to Rakitic, Bruno, Dybala, Koulibaly, Erikson, Ronaldinho, Tiger Woods, Tom Brady, Rocky Balboa and all the other fake transfers I read about) but some good names. We did however, get three players who should make an instant impact on this roster.

Daniel James

This kid is RAPID to say the least. The Welsh winger formally of Swansea is an exciting addition to the Man U roster for a few reasons, one being that he’s just well…new. This team has been fairly the same for the past few years, and an injection of some new talent will go a long way. The kid an play anywhere in the middle, but with that pace throw him outside and let him go.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka

This signing couldn’t have come soon enough. Bissaka is an unconventional (by modern terms) defender who will fit perfectly in the Man U lineup. The former Crystal Palace outside back was one of the most successful defenders in the Premier last season, fixing a fairly weak part of the Man U defense instantly.

Harry Maguire

This signing…this is one of those signings that you just get out of bed in the morning excited about. Maguire is the perfect Man U defender, no matter the price tag on his head. Honestly, we weren’t really spending that money anywhere else so I have no issue making Maguire the highest transferred defender of all time. The kid has led England against the world’s best multiple times, and brought himself up from Sheffield United to the Glory that is Manchester. Cannot wait to see what this kid has in store for the Red Devils this season.

I’m not going to be a wild homer, but I see no reason Man U won’t finish top three this year. Ole has his first full year of management and for once I believe we finally found our manager. Holding on to Pogba (barring something today) was key despite the midfielders attitude, and even if we cannot trade away Lukaku, our team looks solid into the season.
