Okay, let’s access last week’s wideout starts and sits people! Diontae Johnson was my start of the week for Monday night’s game against the Bears, and he sadly only ended up with over 11 points. The sit of the week was Allen Robinson who actually turned out his best stat sheet with just under 11 points. It’s not great, but yeah whatever…let’s move on to this week’s wideouts.
Start of the Week;
Mike Williams vs Minnesota Vikings
Mike Williams’ monster year has been derailed for a little bit with some bad games. However, he should bounce back hard in this matchup with the Vikings. Their defense is in the bottom tier of covering wideouts. Just ask Lamar and the Ravens how much they loved playing them last week. Mike should get back into his prime contention for this one people. Start him.
Emmanuel Sanders vs New York Jets
Sanders didn’t have back-to-back zero-point games so I call that a huge win for his fantasy owners. He put up double digits against the Jaguars, and I believe he will do the same thing when the Bills take on the Jets this week. With their run game being kinda ehhh, the Bills will want to pass a bit more, and I like Sanders’s chances for this one. Give him the start.
Jarvis Landry vs New England Patriots
Landry is questionable so just be weary in playing him, but if he is good to go he is an instant play this week when the Browns take on the Patriots. Yes, their defense is in the top ten at defending wideouts, but possessions will be the key for the Browns team instead of slinging it down the field. Landry is that great possession all quarterbacks want in sticky situations. Start him this week.
Jaylen Waddle vs Baltimore Ravens
Waddles had a nice stat sheet last week with over 16 points against the Texans. I like his chances again this week when he takes on the Baltimore Ravens this Thursday night. It is honestly the same reason why you are starting Landry. Don’t be pulled by the stats from the Baltimore defense, this unit has given up big points to receivers in the past, and the Dolphins will need to push the ball downfield to win this one.
Rashod Bateman vs Miami Dolphins
On the other side of the ball, we have the other rookie Rashod Bateman for Thursday’s game. The Dolphins’ defense has been absolute garbage this year. Bateman is also starting to become of Lamar Jackson’s favorite targets. In the last three games he has played he has a total of 20 targets and 162 receiving yards. I like his chances against a piss-poor Miami secondary.
Hunter Renfrow vs Kansas City Chiefs
Brandon Aiyuk vs Los Angeles Rams
Van Jefferson vs San Francisco 49ers
Sit of the Week;
DeVonta Smith vs Denver Broncos
This might not be my smartest take, but I’m gonna try here. Smith has been okay for the Eagles and for Jalen Hurts this season, but he sometimes does not become the vocal point of the game like I’d thought he’d be. It is either the running game or a lot of targets to Dallas Goedert. The Eagles are a flip-floppity team with this, and I can’t trust Smith to do well because of it against the Denver Broncos.
DJ Moore vs Arizona Cardinals
Moore has hit a slump in how he started, and that is primarily because of how trash Sam Darnold has been. However, the Panthers have resigned Cam Newton for a year so maybe this will help Moore to get back to his original form of dominating lineups. This matchup is not a crazy one though as Arizona’s defense is really good at covering wideouts. Risky flex play at best people.
Adam Thielen vs Los Angeles Chargers
Had it not been for the late touchdown at the end of the game, Thielen would have had a terrible day at the office last Sunday against the Ravens. I will say I am doubting the matchup here for this one. The Chargers’ secondary is much better than its rush defense. The Vikings will prioritize the run, and they will pass when needed, but yeah I am not feeling this one for Adam Thielen.
Tim Patrick vs Philadelphia Eagles
The touchdown against the Cowboys was nice for Patrick, but I wouldn’t chase the points here. The Eagles do a lot of damage control when it comes to guarding wide receivers. This seems like a big Melvin Gordon/Javonte Williams game, and even if they do pass Sutton and Jeudy are there along with Noah Fant leaving Patrick as the outside man. Not a great situation and not a great matchup.
Elijah Moore vs Buffalo Bills
Moore had his best stat sheet of the season last Thursday against the Indianapolis Colts. He had two touchdowns on the night with one coming from a different quarterback each time. The points shouldn’t be chased here as the Jets will go up against the Buffalo Bills are the number one defense in fantasy football right now. Who knows though, maybe Mike White will pull it off again.
AJ Green vs Carolina Panthers
Donovan Peoples-Jones vs New England Patriots
Jamal Agnew vs Indianapolis Colts
