MLS Week 1 Recap and Highlights

Well, the not so exciting world of Major League Soccer is back with some new faces that begin their first campaigns as professional squads. Yesterday, David Beckham’s Inter Miami squad lost against an MLS cup favorite side LAFC 1-0 off of a DISGUSTING Carlos Vela chip. Luckily I had the opportunity to watch this game. As I am not surprised about the result, especially with Carlos Vela with the game-winner, I am surprised by how well Inter Miami did with holding off Vela and company in an away match in Los Angeles. I think that was will be better things to come for this Inter Miami side, and should be proud of how they did even though they lost.

Nashville SC also ended up losing 2-1 to defending MLS Cup champions Atlanta United. Unfortunately, Atlanta United was the real loser of the game, with Josef Martinez being stretchered off of the field with a torn ACL. That is a HUGE blow to one of the front runners to win the MLS Cup, and most likely will ruin the chance for another title run for Atlanta United.

Below are the first week of scores across the league.
