The Mookie Betts Trade is FINALLY Finished

Man. Going through this trade once was hard enough. Going through it twice, well that’s even harder.

The Boston Red Sox, Los Angeles Dodgers and Minnesota Twins FINALLY completed the Mookie Betts trade after it was stalled over the past week because of medical reports pertaining to Twins pitcher Brusdar Graterol.

Graterol had Tommy John surgery and missed time in 2019 because of a shoulder injury. The Red Sox balked at this and immediately wanted more in return and they GOT IT.

In the new version of the trade, Mooke and David Price are still heading to the Dodgers, but in return the Red Sox get Alex Verdugo, shortstop Jeter Downs, the 44th ranked prospect according to the MLB, and infielder converted catcher Connor Wong.

But, in a turn of events. Graterol ended up with the Dodgers and the Blue and White sent Kenta Maeda and 10 mil, plus another prospect back to the Twins in a seperate deal.

Just like all of the baseball people saying that, I completely agree. The first trade that went down, the Sox were getting Verdugo and Graterol. I like Verdugo filling in the outfield, but was a little questionable on Graterol. He throws hard, but with his injury background, who knows what could happen.

The new trade, gives the Sox solid prospects in Downs and Wong, who could both turn into every day players.

Unlike most Red Sox fans after trading away a Top 5 player, I’m EXCITED for the future in Boston. This could turn out to be another one of those franchise altering trades AND it has me HYPED!!
