The Super Bowl is the biggest game of the calendar year. Not only do the two best teams face off for the title, there are great commercials and, some hilarious prop bets.
The Super Bowl features novelty prop bets that have absolutely nothing to do with the outcome of the game, but these are really hilarious ways to take in the event.
I am not throwing down actually money on these bets, but you know I’ll be following closely for the fun:
Length of National Anthem: Over/Under 119.5 seconds
This bet could come down to how long the “home of the brave” is drawn out. Demi Lovato is this year’s anthem singer. She has sung the anthem for three World Series games, a Thanksgiving Thursday game in 2008, and most recently the McGregor Mayweather fight in 2017. Her rendition at the McGregor-Mayweather bout lasted 131 seconds.
This is her biggest stage and she’s trying to resurrect her stardom. I am taking the over here.
Will Any Scoring Drive Take Less Time Than It Takes Demi Lovato To Sing The Anthem?
This one gets interesting. You have two explosive offenses who could explode at any moment. I think a team will most definitely score in under two minutes so I’ll say yes here.
Which Company Airs the First Commercial Once The Game Starts?
A 30-second ad spot costs $5.6 million dollars. Who is going to be the first company to appear? I found this list online of some odds.
- Bud Light: 15 to 1
- Budweiser: 15 to 1
- Coke: 19 to 1
- Hyundai: 19 to 1
- Skittles: 19 to 1
- Mars/M&M’s: 24 to 1
- Kia: 24 to 1
- Field: 2/3
My gut says to go with the Field as I feel like it could be a Facebook/Google/Amazon Web Services type of thing. However, I am feeling called toward with Hyundai at 19 to 1.
Jersey Number of First TD Scorer: Over/Under 26.5
The bet for this over/under is set at 26.5 here and that juices the under. If it was 25.5 that is a different story as both Damien Williams and Tevin Coleman sport number 26.

The most realistic hope for the over is Mostert or one of the superstar tight ends breaking free and scoring first. Or Kendrick Bourne. Or maybe a 27+ numbered defensive player taking one to the house.
I am taking under 26.5.
First Song Each Artist Performs at Halftime Show

Humble brag: I guessed Maroon 5’s first song correct last year. If only I put bones on the “Harder to Breathe” pick at +900. Hindsight is WUFF.
With this year being a combo performance of both Jennifer Lopez and Shakira, we get two bets here. I am thinking Jennifer Lopez will open with her 1999 song “Let’s Get Loud” while Shakira will come in hot with “Whenever, Wherever.”
Will Alex Rodriguez Be Shown During the Halftime show?
JLo and ARod are a force of a power couple. In my mind it is not of matter of if, it’s a matter of how early into the performance we go until ARod is on the screen.
Another question is if there will be any surprise singer performances during the halftime show. Mr. 305/Pitbull himself is a sleeper candidate for getting up on stage for “On the Floor” with Jennifer Lopez. Dark horse candidate is Will Smith busting out the pipes because of this…
Color of the Gatorade Dumped On Winning Coach?

There is a lot of red in each of these team’s jerseys. Will the color of the Gatorade follow suit?
I am going with Orange here.
Cross-Sport Bets
If you are spending your day before kickoff watching other sports…make a cross-bet prop bets! For the Pittsburgh sports people…I found this one pretty intriguing:

How many TikToks will Patrick Mahomes’ Brother Make on February 2nd? Over/Under 5.5
Patrick’s younger brother Jackson is all over the app TikTok. His reputation on the app/his relationship to Patrick got him verified on Twitter which is wild to me. I still can’t if his his popular or notorious on the app. Frankly, I don’t even know much about the app.
But, it seems…interesting…
Regardless, I am destroying the over on this one. He is going for double digits before kickoff. And if the Chiefs win, he will put up over 50 TikToks.
Take that one to the bank!
Sound off with any exotic prop bets I missed…
