The Buffalo Bills are back in the Promised Land

Here we are, it’s Friday, January 3, 2020. It’s a brand new year, a brand new decade and the Buffalo Bills are back in the playoffs.

Now, I’ve been a Bills fan for my entire life and I’ve never really got to experience a Bills playoff push. Yea, there was the appearances in ’93, ’95, ’96, ’98 and ’99 but I was still young.

1999 is probably the one I remember the most just because of the way it ended. I know it as heartbreak, you probably know it as “The Music City Miracle.”

The heartbreak is not in the fact that this play went for a touchdown, but it’s the fact that it was a forward pass. The Bills were robbed of a trip to the next round because of a forward pass. You add that to the top of 4 straight Super Bowls without a Lombardi and well the thoughts start to creep into the back of your head that one will never come.

And it was another 17 years before the Bills got back to the playoffs.

So, when the Bills made the playoffs in 2017, it was a truly exciting feeling and I celebrated accordingly, with drinks lots and lots of drinks. I mean it was a moment for celebration. Look at how the rest of Bills Mafia reacted when Andy Dalton delivered a strike to Tyler Boyd down the right sideline in Week 17 with 44 seconds remaining in the game.

Pure Joy man, Pure Joy.

Which brings us to 2020. The Bills are 10-6 and they are back in the Playoffs baby.

They get the Houston Texans tomorrow at 4:35 p.m. and man am I excited. It’s not everyday you get to experience a Bills playoff appearance and you know NRG Stadium in Houston is gonna be filled with the Blue and Red!!!
