Start of the Week –
Robert Woods vs Atlanta Falcons
Woods was essentially the only player on the Rams last week that found any success with a rushing touchdown. This week he should do even better with a very favorable matchup against the Atlanta Falcons. In fact the Falcons have given up seven touchdowns and the fourth most fantasy points to receivers playing out wide. Woods should see success according to those stats as he runs more than half of his routes out wide. Look for Cooper Kupp and possibly Brandin Cooks to have a better week as well.
T.Y. Hilton vs Houston Texans
Hilton didn’t do as well as I thought he would have against the Chiefs two weeks ago, but he also went into the game with a questionable designation for an injury. Now he has had a week to rest off the bye and should be fully healed heading into a nice matchup against the Houston Texans. Look for Brissett to target Hilton quite often in this game as the Texans who are ranked 27th against the pass.
Kenny Golladay vs Minnesota Vikings
The matchup may not look like a favorable one, but it actually is. In fact Minnesota while being a very good defense has given up five touchdowns and the sixth most fantasy points to receivers that line up out wide. Golladay should find huge success as he runs about 82% of his routes out wide. Start Golladay with confidence.
Calvin Ridley vs Los Angeles Rams
Calvin Ridley as the opportunity to do big things this week with a possible shoot out match against the Los Angeles Rams. The reason being that they put Aqib Talib on IR and this should open up an already gapping hole in the Rams secondary. Despite the Ramsey trade, I predict that if Ramsey does play that he will do most of his coverage against Julio Jones leaving Ridley open for some strikes down the field. Plus Marcus Peters is no longer there now that he was traded to Baltimore.
Golden Tate vs Arizona Cardinals
Golden Tate gets my last start of week seven as he has an interesting matchup against the Cardinals this week. The Cardinals defense has been swiss cheese and Tate found success last week against one of the best defenses in the NFL battling the New England Patriots. Tate should find some success as a flex start this week against one of the worst defenses in the NFL and a lot of the Giants stars still being out.
John Brown vs Miami Dolphins
Courtland Sutton vs Kansas City Chiefs
D.J. Chark vs Cincinnati Bengals
Sit of the Week –
Terry McLaurin vs San Francisco 49ers
McLaurin found a lot of success last week with four receptions for 100 yards and two touchdowns. However, that was against a terrible Dolphins defense. This week he gets one of the best defenses in the NFL in the 49ers. There is no way he finds success this week in a defense that held the offense powered Los Angeles Rams to only seven points.
Allen Robinson vs New Orleans Saints
Robinson is a tough one to sit being that there are four teams on a bye, but the stats just do not favor the receiver as he comes off his bye week to take on the Saints this week. He will be matched up with star corner Marshon Lattimore covering him. Also it is smart to know that the Saints in their last three matchups have held receivers to a combined 91 yards and 17 fantasy points. This included Mike Evans who had zero points in their week five matchup.
Robby Anderson vs New England Patriots
I am begging you to realize it would be stupid to play Anderson this week. I understand he had almost a 24 point game last week against the Cowboys, but he did most of his damage on a deep ball that went 92 yards for a touchdown. This week he faces a huge challenge against the star defense of the New England Patriots who have only let up one touchdown and the second fewest fantasy points to receivers. Don’t chase the points here.
Alshon Jeffery vs Dallas Cowboys
While it may sound silly to sit Jeffery after he got a touchdown last week and what we saw the Jets receivers do to the Dallas defense it just isn’t the move I’d want to make this week. Carson Wentz struggled a lot in that match against the Vikings and it wasn’t until the very end that Jeffery caught that touchdown pass. I’d also imagine the Dallas defense steps up against the Eagles this week making it very hard for Carson to connect with Jeffery.
Corey Davis vs Los Angeles Chargers
Davis is losing ground pretty quickly on sit to straight bust. He has a chance this weekend to prove himself with a new quarterback at play, but honestly the run game is probably where they will go to with Tannehill starting. Plus it seems like Adam Humphries or A.J. Brown might be poised to take the number one wideout spot with the other coming in second leaving Davis as the fourth option also being behind tight end Delanie Walker.
