#32

Arizona Cardinals

(3-10)

Previous Rank: 28

Well we all knew this wasn’t going to last. As impressive as the Cardinals were against the Packers, they fell and fell hard against the Lions this week. Josh Rosen continues to struggle as his pick six to Darius Slay sealed the fate of Arizona as well as. Zach Zenner rushing touchdown. The only points put up for Arizona was 22 yard field goal from Zane Gonzalez which against the Lions is quite pitiful. They get the Falcons this week and after they lost to Green Bay expect Atlanta to come and light up the Cardinals.

#31

Washington Redskins

(6-7)

Previous Rank: 27

The Redskins have fallen below the point of no return. For this entire game up until the fourth quarter the Giants were dominating and by the fourth quarter not only was the score 40-0, but the Redskins decided to throw in another quarterback in the form of Josh Johnson. Sanchez is terrible and threw two picks including a pick six, so they figured why not. Johnson did run for a score and throw a short pass to Crowder that went for 79 yards but don’t mistake that for confidence in this team by any means. They face the Jaguars this week and destined to lose no matter how bad the Jaguars defense is.

#30

New York Jets

(4-9)

Previous Rank: 32

The Jets move up two spots and out of last place after a surprising victory against Buffalo last week. Sam Darnold also surprised my mind with the unbelievable way he avoided Bills defenders to find Robby Anderson for a touchdown. Seriously, his pass went for 7 actual yards but the way he ran and avoided pressure it felt like he ran for 40 or 50 yards to complete that pass. Times will be tough again though as they face the Texans this week and having their winning streak ruined by the Colts last week I would not want to be a Jets player right now.

#29

Cincinnati Bengals

(5-8)

Previous Rank: 29

The Bengals hold off at the #29 spot after losing to the Chargers last week. Nobody expected them to win but, I was honestly surprised at how close the game was with the Bengals defense finally showing signs of life. The offense wasn’t too shabby as Mixon ran for over 100 yards and a touchdown as well as Driskel tossing one to John Ross. The impressive part comes on the defense as they held the Chargers to four field goals. They get the Raiders this week but I’m predicting a close game with Oakland coming out with the victory.

#28

San Francisco 49ers

(3-10)

Previous Rank: 31

The 49ers squeeze up three spots after coming off a surprising victory against Denver. The real story here was George Kittle who almost broke Shannon Sharpe’s record for all time receiving yards by a tight end. He was off by five yards and got all of his yardage in the first half. Absolutely stunning by this young man. Other than that not much happened for the 49ers. Wilson rushed for 90 yards and Pettis caught a one yard touchdown pass. A rematch is in bloom with Seattle this week but very likely the same result will happen again.

#27

Oakland Raiders

(3-10)

Previous Rank: 30

Well Oakland stunned the world defeating the Steelers last week. Give a lot of credit to the Steelers defense for giving them too many opportunities and their kicker for being a total waste of space. Carr played his best game of the season and Jared Cook continues to dominate against defenses. They get Cincinnati this week and after knocking off Pittsburgh, it looks like Oakland will claim Cincinnati as well.

#26

Jacksonville Jaguars

(4-9)

Previous Rank: 26

Jacksonville doesn’t dip at all which might leave some puzzled after the Titans absolutely waxed them last Thursday. Truth of the matter though is that every team listed below them would lose to them. They stay here out of convenience. The defense was trash as they gave up over 200 yards on the ground from Derrick Henry with him scoring four touchdowns as well. The offense saw one glimmer of hope as Kessler connected with Westbrook for a seven yard touchdown pass. Bortles looks to be getting the start again this week against Washington and they’ll probably win but it won’t be a win they deserve.

#25

Buffalo Bills

(4-9)

Previous Rank: 25

The Bills make no movement despite their loss to the Jets this past week. Josh Allen continues to have problems in the air and continues to thrive on the ground. He threw two picks to a poor Jets defense and only 206 yards. Yet, he ran 101 yards on nine carries and scored a rushing touchdown. This week the Bills get the Lions which will be an interesting one to take in as we get to see if the city of Detroit can stop the rushing power of Josh Allen.

#24

Atlanta Falcons

(4-9)

Previous Rank: 24

The Falcons don’t drift up or down this week staying put at the #24 spot. Despite their loss again this team could virtually beat any of the other teams below them on this list. Julio Jones continues to be the only one who gets anything on the team. Ito Smith actually did better than Tevin Coleman this week so we could see a change in that committee. This week they face the Cardinals which could give Atlanta a win which they definitely need.

#23

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

(5-8)

Previous Rank: 23

Tampa Bay also stays put after a loss to the Saints. This was a weird one as the Saints were beginning to fall off the wagon against the Bucs in the first half but then gave up 25 unanswered points to the Saints in the second half. Chris Godwin who was a savior last week for the Bucs caught one pass out of ten attempts. Brate the tight end caught both of the touchdowns from Winston. They get the Ravens this week which might be closer than most people expect it to be.

#22

Carolina Panthers

(6-7)

Previous Rank: 16

Yes the Panthers move down six spots in the rankings this week after a loss to the Browns. Carolina has gone downhill losing now five games in a row. Christian McCaffrey is the team at this point and Cam Newton ought to get on and ride him down the stretch because he is the team. McCaffrey excels in both rushing and receiving, but not even that could save them from Cleveland this week. Carolina will look to break this streak against the Saints but it’s highly unlikely.

#21

Detroit Lions

(5-8)

Previous Rank: 22

The Detroit Lions move up one spot after their victory over Arizona last week. In my mind it was barely a move up though as Detroit did not impress me very much at all in this as Stafford passed for only 101 yards and everyone who thought Blount was going to be the key factor was disappointed as well. The defense and Zach Zenner were the stars of this showdown but again stars is a big word as a pick six and a rushing touchdown are no big surprise when it comes to Arizona. Detroit gets the Bills this week which will be interesting to see how Stafford finds a way past the defense.

#20

Philadelphia Eagles

(6-7)

Previous Rank: 17

The Eagles are taken down by three spots after their overtime loss to Dallas last week. Honestly, the Eagles looked promising in beating the Cowboys but the defense was on the field for too long and eventually time and frustration caught up to the devastated team. Wentz did throw three touchdowns against an impressive Cowboys defense to Jeffery, Godert, and Sproles, but again the defense got burned by Elliot on the ground and Prescott throwing 455 yards and three touchdowns to Cooper through the air. The Eagles get another tough matchup against the Rams this week and after getting slaughtered by the Bears last week Los Angeles will be looking for retribution.

#19

New York Giants

(5-8)

Previous Rank: 21

The Giants move up two spots after massacring the Washington Redskins last week. It is the first time this season that the Giants have scored 40 points in a game and if that is not impressive I don’t know what is. Saquon Barkley ran for 170 yards and a rushing touchdown in the game and Eli Manning threw three touchdowns to three different receivers. The Giants dominated in this game so much they took Barkley out almost as soon as they were halfway through the second half. This week the Giants get the Titans and if Barkley keeps pulling the Giants forward it will take all the Titans have to beat them.

#18

Miami Dolphins

(7-6)

Previous Rank: 20

What game this was wasn’t it?1 I am still in disbelief not only how Miami was able to match New England back and forth, but even in more disbelief that they were able to beat them in miracle fashion with a lateral play in the last fifteen seconds of the game. It seems to keep happening as Miami continues to be the kryptonite to New England beating them now in five of their last six contests. This week however Miami gets a frustrated Vikings team who seems to be clawing for a victory. It will be close but I predict Miami falls to Minnesota.

#17

Denver Broncos

(6-7)

Previous Rank: 13

Denver falls four spots after a obscure loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Case Keenum just could not get anything going in the passing game throwing for only 185 yards and a touchdown on only 66% of his passes. Philip Lindsay was also a shock to be seen as Royce Freeman had more rushing yards than him. The real loser here however was the defense who gave 332 passing yards and three touchdowns to Nick Mullens as well as over 200 receiving yards to the tight end George Kittle. Even with the two interceptions it was not enough and now a date with the Browns looms this Saturday. With the Broncos playing like this it seems unlikely they will come out the victor of that game.

#16

Green Bay Packers

(5-7-1)

Previous Rank: 18

The Packers proved they still have a little life left in them by beating the Atlanta Falcons last week and rising two spots in the rankings. There was one big problem for me with this game however and that was coaching decisions. Julio Jones caught two passes and they were pretty clear as day when they were replayed so the issue was that the interim coach challenged both of these plays. The Packers lost both challenges and were out of them in the first half. It was odd so it is cloudy to see if the decisions will continue to be this bad in the future. In light though, Adams still balled out and Jones as well as Cobb got touchdowns as well. This week gets brutal however as the Packers get to deal with their divisional rival; the Chicago Bears.

#15

Cleveland Browns

(5-7-1)

Previous Rank: 19

Well they did it, for the first time in a very long time Cleveland is finally out of last place in the AFC North division following a hard fought victory of the Carolina Panthers. Again, people called me crazy when I said this team would win after the devastating loss they suffered two weeks ago against the Texans, but sure enough the Browns pulled it off. Jarvis Landry and Baker Mayfield shined in this game finally reconnecting on some interesting and clever play calling. They have a matchup with the Broncos on Saturday this week and have a good shot at knocking them off.

#14

Minnesota Vikings

(6-6-1)

Previous Rank:12

Minnesota what has happened to you?? At the beginning of the year I thought this team was going to be a force to be reckoned with but, sadly they have slowed down tremendously in momentum. This game honestly was hard to watch as it was only 0-6 in the fourth quarter of the game. Sadly, the game went sour very quick for the Vikings as just a few short moments left in the game the Seahawks scored twice in just eighteen seconds. This was due to a rushing score and yet another fumble by Kirk Cousins that went for a score as well. Cousins managed to toss a six yard touchdown pass to Cook with about a minute left but honestly in my mind, the problem is that they are running the ball now way too much and not relying on Cousins and the passing game. They get the Dolphins this week and they need to win this desperately.

#13

Tennessee Titans

(7-6)

Previous Rank: 15

My oh my did the Titans put a hurting on Jacksonville this week. Derrick Henry came out of his shell and absolutely dominated on the ground with 238 yards and four rushing touchdowns. The man kept eating and eating until there was nothing left of the Jacksonville defense. Mariota didn’t do much in this game tossing only 162 passing yards and an interception to go along with it. Still the running game was more than willing to pick up the slack for the passing game. The Titans now face the New York Giants who are on a two game win streak and they’re gonna need to stop one Saquon Barkley if they want that to come to an end.

#12

Baltimore Ravens

(7-6)

Previous Rank: 11

The Ravens trail one spot in light of their overtime defeat against Kansas City. Look, I know the game went down to a wire and it was one for the ages, but it was the number one scoring offense against the number one scoring defense so you already know it was going to be a good one. Lamar Jackson did very well in the passing game tossing two touchdowns to Williams and Brown and they rushed the ball plenty of times as well. Sadly, the defense even with an interception against Mahomes couldn’t stop the passing attack and still remain second in the AFC North. They face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this week in which promises to be an unusual game between two rushing quarterbacks; that is unless they decide to play Joe Flacco instead.

#11

Pittsburgh Steelers

(7-5-1)

Previous Rank: 7

This was such a hard one to swallow as the Steelers fell victim to the Oakland Raiders last weekend. So much was wrong with the Steelers in this one including the usual kicking problems which cost the tie to send it into overtime and the usual poor clock management skills by Tomlin. However, Big Ben also went down in the game and was being evaluated at halftime which led to Josh Dobbs coming to fill in at quarterback. Ben did return in the fourth quarter but apparently he could have returned sooner than that and that again falls on coach Tomlin who made the comment that they were essentially in the rhythm and flow of the game. That is inexcusable if you ask me and Ben should have been brought in sooner. Now while struggling to hold the divisional lead they face the thorn in their side; the New England Patriots this week and I just do not if they will make it at this point.

#10

Indianapolis Colts

(7-6)

Previous Rank: 14

The Colts slide back into the top ten after knocking off the Houston Texans last week. With that win they snap the Texan’s nine game winning streak and that is as impressive as it sounds. This was a hard fought victory for Andrew Luck who tossed nearly 400 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception. T.Y. Hilton was a true boss level contender in this game catching the ball nine times for 199 yards. Mack also got a rushing touchdown on the day and the defense played decent as well. With this victory they look to try to defeat the Dallas Cowboys this week and it will be interesting to see what happens in this one.

#9

Seattle Seahawks

(8-5)

Previous Rank: 10

Seattle moves up one spot on the rankings after knocking off Minnesota last Monday night. Originally, this team was fighting neck and neck with the Vikings for some kind of points but all that changed in the fourth quarter as Chris Carson scored a rushing touchdown and the defense recovered a fumble for a touchdown as well in the span of eighteen seconds. The defense played well all game too shutting down Cousins and the rest of the offense. The run game is also spicing up as Carson continues to look good. Wilson did not play his best game however throwing less than 80 yards and an interception hence why they only move up one spot. They face the 49ers again this week and I suspect Wilson  will come alive once again for this game and help out the run game and defense.

#8

Houston Texans

(9-4)

Previous Rank: 6

The Texans fall two spots after their nine game win streak was cut short by the Indianapolis Colts last week. If there is one thing this team needs to improve on it is the run game as Watson was the lead rusher for his team with only 35 yards rushing. That means Miller and Blue need to step it up to help out their quarterback. The defense played alright in this game but still gave up nearly 400 yards to Andrew Luck. This week they get the New York Jets which leads me to believe they will be on the winning side of the Jets and be victorious once again.

#7

Dallas Cowboys

(8-5)

Previous Rank: 9

Dallas cooked this bird last week defeating the Eagles in overtime to remain at the top of the NFC East division. Dak Prescott threw for 455 yards. Honestly, that is incredible on its own but he tossed three touchdowns to Amari Cooper as well giving him that and 217 yards on ten receptions. This trade from Oakland continues to do wonders for this offense. Elliot also had a good game running for 113 yards shredding the defense. This team continues to do well and they will look to continue their path to victory by trying to take down Luck and the Colts this week.

#6

Chicago Bears

(9-4)

Previous Rank: 8

THIS.DEFENSE.IS.NOTHING.TO.SCREW.WITH!! Imagine that as I am clapping my hands between each word. Forreal, the defense outshined everyone by holding one of the strongest offenses in the Los Angeles Rams to just six points. Not only that but they intercepted Goff four times and held Gurley to a mere 28 rushing yards. It is crazy to just say that in my opinion but it happened. The offense did struggle though as Trubisky didn’t play his greatest game having 110 passing yards, one touchdown, and three interceptions. Jordan Howard finally came out of his shell and rushed for 101 yards on the ground though. Chicago gets their big rival the Green Bay Packers this week and I always love watching these games so you can bet I won’t miss this one.

#5

Los Angeles Chargers

(10-3)

Previous Rank: 5

It seems like the Chargers will never get out of the fifth spot on my rankings. They were very close to it with a New England loss but they just did not have it this week with their win over the Bengals. The offense struck hard with two touchdowns in the first half one in the air from Rivers to Allen and the other a rushing touchdown by Austin Ekeler. However, Ekeler got hurt and with that the run game kind of died out and for some reason so did the passing game. The Chargers were held to four field goals in the second half by one of the worst defenses in the NFL. The score was a lot closer than it needed to be and for that they stay put. They are now looking at a huge match this Thursday when they have their rematch against the Kansas City Chiefs. Will lightning strike twice? We will have to wait and see.

#4

New England Patriots

(9-4)

Previous Rank: 3

Well that was a tough one for Patriot fans as they drop one spot after losing in the last fifteen seconds of their game against Miami. Now don’t get me wrong the offense played fantastically with Brady throwing for 358 yards and three touchdowns. The run game and defense were at fault for this one as Sony Michel ran for only 57 yards on 20 carries. The defense let Tannehill and the Dolphins match the Patriots blow for blow and gave it up in the end. Now comes the task as I talked about Miami being this team’s kryptonite they face a team in which they are the kryptonite to and that is the Pittsburgh Steelers. I think this one will be close because it always is but with the Steelers losing three games in a row it will be an interesting display to see if new England will also let this one slip.

#3

Los Angeles Rams

(11-2)

Previous Rank: 1

Wow this one was completely one sided and it wasn’t in the favor of the Rams. They got absolutely spanked by the defensive powerhouse in the form of the Bears. This team just seemed off this week with Goff throwing four interceptions and Gurley rushing for only 28 yards. The defense kept them in as long as they could though picking off Trubisky three times. They face the Eagles this week and I imagine them getting back on track with a win but this loss was too devastating for them to only drop one spot so two it is.

#2

Kansas City Chiefs

(11-2)

Previous Rank: 4

The Chiefs rise two spots after a brutal overtime battle with the Baltimore Ravens. This was such an exciting game to watch as both teams gave it everything they had and left everything on the field. In the end Kansas City came out the victor with a Butker field goal. Mahomes threw for 377 yards two touchdowns and a pick. Honestly, i suspected him throwing two picks in this game but he kept his cool and led his team to victory. Kelce and Hill continue to be a threat to defenses everywhere and this week they get the Los Angeles Chargers in a rematch this Thursday. Catch this game cause it’s gonna be a good one.

#1

New Orleans Saints

(11-2)

Previous Rank: 2

The Saints retake the number one spot with a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I was a little nervous at first as the Saints were trailing 14 to 3 at halftime and Drew Brees had thrown another interception. It was looking like week one of the season was about to repeat itself, but then the Saints scored 25 unanswered points in the second half. Whatever speech coach Peyton made worked as Drew Brees tossed a one yard touchdown to Line and also jumped in the endzone for a rushing touchdown as well. Ingram also shared the virtue of the rushing touchdown scoring from seventeen yards out. This week the Saints get the Panthers and these two teams always have good showdowns. Will the Saints continue to add demise to the Panthers losing streak? Or will the Panthers upset the Saints and break their losing curse. Guess we will have to wait and find out.
