Oh boy, we are inching closer and closer to the NFL Draft. Moves have been made, hearts have been broken, and the NFL rule changes continue to be worse than Calvin Ridley’s betting odds. In all serious though, the Draft is coming up, and I’m super excited for it.
There has only been one big thing in my mind that has happened since my last post. Stefon Diggs has now found a new home on the Texans. Yes, he was traded from the Bills to the Texans for a 2025 second round pick and a 2024 sixth round pick. Wild if I do say so myself.
Once again, here is the schedule for events to come. We have already covered my first Steelers mock and now we only have three left (this one included). Here’s what we have left;
- April 8th – Mock Draft 4.0 (Two Rounds)
- April 15th – Steelers Mock 2.0 (With Trades)
- April 22nd – Final 2024 NFL Mock Draft
We have two jam packed rounds to get through so let’s get cracking. You all the drill by now. There will be explanations for the first round and just names for round two. Let’s get it!
Pick 1 – Chicago Bears
Caleb Williams (QB/USC)
The amount of ass clowns trying to say that they are now starting to doubt if Williams deserves to be the pick is completely and utterly ridiculous. Some people may not like it, but the pick will be Caleb Williams.
Pick 2 – Washington Commanders
Jayden Daniels (QB/LSU)
The closer we get to the draft, the more likely it seems that the Washington Commanders will be taking the former Heisman trophy winner in LSU’s Jayden Daniels. You guys know why I like him here and why it makes sense so I won’t waste much time. I believe he’ll be the pick here.
Pick 3 – New England Patriots
Marvin Harrison Jr. (WR/Ohio State)
That’s right. We’re switching it up. For the longest time, I have been mocking Drake Maye to the Patriots. However, I firmly believe that the Patriots will trade down from this spot to collect more draft capital. The safest selection is to go quarterback, but they haven’t had a prime wide receiver since maybe Randy Moss. This would be a splash pick, and I would be totally here for it.
Pick 4 – Arizona Cardinals
Malik Nabers (WR/LSU)
With Marvin Harrison Jr. off the board, the Cardinals will look to take the next best wide receiver available. Luckily for them, Malik Nabers is here and is still regarded as one of the top receivers scouted in the last fifteen years. The Cardinals will be very lucky to draft him with this pick.
Pick 5 – Los Angeles Chargers
Joe Alt (OT/Notre Dame)
The more I think about it, the more I can see Harbaugh making a move to finally solidify the offensive line. Drafting Joe Alt to play alongside an already dangerous tackle in Rashawn Slater would be a big help to Justin Herbert even though he wouldn’t have a top receiver with this pick. It gets better and better every time I think about it.
Pick 6 – New York Giants
Drake Maye (QB/UNC)
Well, now the Giants are in a bit of a pickle. They would have to choose between (in my opinion) the third best quarterback and the third best wide receiver. Just knowing that I have been mocking Rome here for a while, I’ll go in a different direction with UNC’s Drake Maye. I believe he can sit for a year and properly develop while Daniel Jones sucks like donkey breath out there.
Pick 7 – Tennessee Titans
Olumuyiwa Fashanu (OT/Penn State)
With Joe Alt getting taken by the Chargers, the Titans won’t let another offensive tackle escape them as they will select Penn State’s Olumuyiwa Fashanu. He is better as a pass blocker, but his run defense is getting a little better. Just makes sense that the Titans will go this direction with all the pass-happy weapons they have.
Pick 8 – Atlanta Falcons
Dallas Turner (EDGE/Alabama)
The Falcons will take the first defensive player in this draft. It honestly could be any of the edge rushers here, but I will go with Turner because of the athletic upside. You could look corner here as well, the pass rushing ability is something that they have been lacking for years.
Pick 9 – Chicago Bears
Laiatu Latu (EDGE/UCLA)
I’ve ragged about the injuries of Latu in the past, but it looks the doctors gave a him a clean bill of health. If Turner goes first, and Latu is healthy, you better believe he will be the next or even the first edge rusher taken in this draft. He’ll join Caleb Williams in this first round.
Pick 10 – New York Jets
Rome Odunze (WR/Washington)
The Jets will do in one first round pick what the Packers never chose to do for Aaron Rodgers in his entire career in Green Bay; get that boy a weapon. Odunze would be the perfect piece to add to this offense even with the addition of an injury prone Mike Williams who is on a one year deal.
Pick 11 – Minnesota Vikings
J.J. McCarthy (QB/Michigan)
Again, I think the Vikings can probably stay put at this pick and take McCarthy as I am not really high on him as everyone else is. Some are saying he could even go with the second pick in this first round. Oh how silly people can be. Look, he’ll do good in the Vikings system under Sam Darnold for a bit, but then he’ll take the starting role from him.
Pick 12 – Denver Broncos
Jared Verse (EDGE/Florida State)
Look I know that Sean wants to take a quarterback, but maybe they would trade back or just trade up from the third round to the second. However, I think that if J.J. is still there, the Broncos will take him. If not then they’ll just settle on a nice defensive player instead.
Pick 13 – Las Vegas Raiders
Quinyon Mitchell (CB/Toldeo)
The Raiders are apparently in the quarterback market as well. I would find it very odd if they decided to go with Bo Nix or Michael Penix Jr. here. They really need a corner and luckily for them not a single one was taken. So they’ll take the kid out of Toldeo who just keeps dropping jaws and getting better. Mitchell would thrive in this Raiders system.
Pick 14 – New Orleans Saints
Taliese Fuaga (OT/Oregon State)
The Saints are in a very hairy situation when it comes to their tackle room. While Trevor Penning is on his way to becoming a complete bust, Ryan Ramczyk could miss this entire upcoming season. They absolutely have to go tackle here. The best one is Fuaga out of Oregon State.
Pick 15 – Indianapolis Colts
Brock Bowers (TE/Georgia)
The Colts have one player they would like to take in Alabama’s Terrion Arnold, but if Brock Bowers is still here you can’t pass him up. The great tight end would be essential to making Anthony Richardson a star. I just don’t see Bowers making it past this point, the tight end position is lacking for this group. They need him.
Pick 16 – Seattle Seahawks
Troy Fautanu (OT/Washington)
The Seahawks offensive line is still having some issues. So, why not grab a versatile offensive lineman that can play tackle or guard. I would have him start off as a guard, but if one of the tackles gets hurt, he is an easy plug in to that position.
Pick 17 – Jacksonville Jaguars
Terrion Arnold (CB/Alabama)
The Jaguars could use another receiver to pair up with the newly signed Gabe Davis, but they wind up going on the defensive side. They are in need of some help in the secondary, and with the Alabama corner Terrion Arnold still on the board, this should be an easy selection.
Pick 18 – Cincinnati Bengals
Byron Murphy II (DT/Texas)
The Bengals might take a chance on another lineman, but I have a feeling they’ll trust Orlando and Trent Brown to protect Burrow. Instead, they’ll go with the best defensive lineman on the board. Byron Murphy II has ranged from the beginning of the first round all the way down to here. This should be an easy pick for the Bengals who lost D.J. Reader to the Lions.
Pick 19 – Los Angeles Rams
Jer’Zhan Newton (DT/Illinois)
The Rams might look to replace position of Aaron Donald in the first round. They need to act quickly as Byron Murphy II just went the pick before theirs. Johnny Newton is still a great piece to add to that defensive line. Some would argue edge here, but some players are stepping up and they just might want to fill that one major hole.
Pick 20 – Pittsburgh Steelers
Amarius Mims (OT/Georgia)
Switching it up a little bit here folks. I’ve been riding the center train for a while, and I think we should pivot back to the tackle talk. Mims is a raw talent and hasn’t played more than ten games, but he’s an exceptional athlete and a great tackle. Pairing him up with former teammate Broderick Jones would be an amazing experience.
Pick 21 – Miami Dolphins
JC Latham (OT/Alabama)
Latham slides down the board here, but if I were Miami I would be jumping out of my seat. He’s a natural mauler that’ll flatten you in a heartbeat, and he has lately been getting some hype as a guard. Miami needs both so they’ll take Latham and smile.
Pick 22 – Philadelphia Eagles
Cooper DeJean (CB/Iowa)
The corners for the Eagles are starting to lose their touch. Let’s bring some life back into that brotherly love system by adding the Swiss army defensive back Cooper DeJean. If he didn’t get injured I believe he would have went a lot higher than this.
Pick 23 – Minnesota Vikings
Nate Wiggins (CB/Clemson)
This pick is kind of pointless because I am really confident the Vikings are just going to trade up to get McCarthy. However, if I had to pick them a different talent I’d go with Nate Wiggins out of Clemson. The defense is still not the best, but their secondary could gain a lot of positives from drafting Wiggins.
Pick 24 – Dallas Cowboys
Brian Thomas Jr. (WR/LSU)
The Cowboys are a team that every time you think they are gonna make a strategic move, they go with the shock factor. Enter Brian Thomas Jr. He’s tall, he’s fast, and he’ll beat you every time for the ball. He’s a touchdown machine, and Dallas can use another wideout with Michael Gallup off the team.
Pick 25 – Green Bay Packers
Graham Barton (IOL/Duke)
With David Bakhtiari off the Packers, Green Bay is going to be looking for the offensive tackle replacement. Graham Barton can play tackle, guard. or center. No matter where he is on the line, he can put in the effort to help his team .
Pick 26 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jackson Powers-Johnson (IOL/Oregon)
The Bucks resigned a lot of their players, but they are missing a few key positions. Rather than turn to the defensive side of the ball, I’m going with the offensive line specially the center position. Exit Ryan Jensen, enter JPJ. He’ll be a great center for the next ten years.
Pick 27 – Arizona Cardinals
Chop Robinson (EDGE/Penn State)
Adding Malik Nabers helps the offense, but now the Cardinals have to address the defense. They could go corner or edge rusher, and if it were me, I would choose the edge position. The best available as far as a first round talent would have to be Chop Robinson. His natural athletic build would be a dream scansion for Arizona.
Pick 28 – Buffalo Bills
Adonai Mitchell (WR/Texas)
With both Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis shipped off to different teams, the Bills’ top wide receiver option is Curtis Samuel…The Bills have to grab a top receiver. The stud Adonai Mitchell out of Texas has been mocked here before, but now it is pretty much guaranteed if he gets to this spot.
Pick 29 – Detroit Lions
Kool-Aid McKinstry (CB/Alabama)
The Lions added a lot of defensive pieces in the off-season. However, due to the Cam Sutton situation Detroit is going to need another defensive back. The best one available is Kool-Aid McKinstry. He had a Jones fracture in his foot, but it looks like that’s a thing of the past as he absolutely crushed his pro day.
Pick 30 – Baltimore Ravens
Tyler Guyton (OT/Oklahoma)
The Ravens have lost so many important positions on their roster. If I were the Ravens, I would fix the offensive line as you shipped off Zeitler and Moses. Tyler Guyton could look to add some protection to both Lamar Jackson and the running game.
Pick 31 – San Francisco 49ers
Jordan Morgan (OT/Arizona)
The 49ers could look to improve on some defensive adjustments, but this might be the opportunity to select an eventual replacement for tackle Trent Williams. Arizona’s Jordan Morgan could fill that role with the right teachings. I mean the guy is getting private workouts with teams so he must be good right?
Pick 32 – Kansas City Chiefs
Ladd McConkey (WR/Georgia)
Receiver was already a big need for this team, and then the Rashee Rice incident happens. Not sure why football players think they can double up as nascar drivers. Now there are talks of a possible suspension. They need to draft a good route running receiver to pair with the speed of Marquise Brown. That would be Georgia’s Ladd McConkey.
Pick 33 – Carolina Panthers
Darius Robinson (EDGE/Missouri)
Pick 34 – New England Patriots
Bo Nix (QB/Oregon)
Pick 35 – Arizona Cardinals
T.J. Tampa (CB/Iowa State)
Pick 36 – Washington Commanders
Kingsley Suamataia (OT/BYU)
Pick 37 – Los Angeles Chargers
Troy Franklin (WR/Oregon)
Pick 38 – Tennessee Titans
Edgerrin Cooper (LB/Texas A&M)
Pick 39 – Carolina Panthers
Keon Coleman (WR/Florida State)
Pick 40 – Washington Commanders
Xavier Worthy (WR/Texas)
Pick 41 – Green Bay Packers
Tyler Nubin (S/Minnesota)
Pick 42 – Houston Texans
Braden Fiske (DT/Florida State)
Pick 43 – Atlanta Falcons
Max Melton (CB/Rutgers)
Pick 44 – Las Vegas Raiders
Michael Penix Jr. (QB/Washington)
Pick 45 – New Orleans Saints
Bralen Trice (EDGE/Washington
Pick 46 – Indianapolis Colts
Ennis Rakestraw Jr. (CB/Missouri)
Pick 47 – New York Giants
Xavier Legette (WR/South Carolina)
Pick 48 – Jacksonville Jaguars
Malachi Corley (WR/Western Kentucky)
Pick 49 – Cincinnati Bengals
Patrick Paul (OT/Houston)
Pick 50 – Philadelphia Eagles
Marshawn Kneeland (EDGE /Western Michigan)
Pick 51 – Pittsburgh Steelers
Zach Frazier (IOL/WVU)
Pick 52 – Los Angeles Rams
Jonah Elliss (EDGE/Utah)
Pick 53 – Philadelphia Eagles
Christian Haynes (IOL/UConn)
Pick 54 – Cleveland Browns
Payton Wilson (LB/NC State)
Pick 55 – Miami Dolphins
Cooper Beebe (IOL/Kansas State)
Pick 56 – Dallas Cowboys
Jonathon Brooks (RB/Texas)
Pick 57 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Kamari Lassiter (CB/Georgia)
Pick 58 – Green Bay Packers
Michael Hall Jr. (DT/Ohio State)
Pick 59 – Houston Texans
Chris Braswell (EDGE/Alabama)
Pick 60 – Buffalo Bills
Javon Bullard (S/Georgia)
Pick 61 – Detroit Lions
Ja’Lynn Polk (WR/Washington)
Pick 62 – Baltimore Ravens
Cedric Gray (LB/UNC)
Pick 63 – San Francisco 49er
T’Vondre Sweat (DT/Texas)
Pick 64 – Kansas City Chiefs
Mike Sainristil (CB/Michigan)
